One of the worst hotels I have stayed at in a very long time, I have no idea how they got such a high rating (I find that a high Hotels.com rating usually is a good indicator). Cleaning was lacking to say the least, the stench of urine from the bathroom was horrible (please used cleaning supplies or fix the pluming, not sure what the problem was but it is not acceptable either way). Food in the restaurant was below mediocre (room service was okay) and all the restaurants nearby were closed (stayed in winter). Internet was not working. Balcony door didn't shut properly, hence it sounded like you were in the middle of a storm most of the time. Air con did not work, so no heating - which is not great in winter with a balcony door that has a gap at the bottom. There was loud music from bar/reception area which could be heard in the room. Only redeeming quality was that the reception lady was nice, but that just isn't enough. I stayed at several other hotels in the same price range and with same star rating during this trip to Portugal, by comparison Hotel Baia Grande was absolutely awful - do yourself a favour and book somewhere else.
