right price for the right place

This hotel was as advertised and appropriately priced for Anchorage. I slept comfortable and felt safe. I stayed 2 nights.

The pictures on the travel websites where not what the property looked like, no chairs in the lobby, had to wait for the owner to arrive, as he is the only one who does check ins, the bed was a fold up cheap matress, only tv channels were what were "air" channels. The property hosts low income extended stays for most of the back rooms, and the "better" rooms are upstairs at the front of the property. Was on a budget, and the pictures from the search engine looked completely different than what the property looks like. For $150/night, I would find another place to stay, even if its a little further to take Uber or in a close town.

The desk manager was very nice, but the room was not clean, hair on tub and sink, mug on top of microwave was dirty. The quilt covering for the bed was folded and sitting on the pillows, making me wonder if the bedding had been changed or not. We were exhausted otherwise we would have went elsewhere. The price of the room was reasonable compared to the larger hotels.

Not for me

Last resort or very tight budget. My wife wiped down the tub before she would take a shower. No blanket for the bed. Just a comforter.

6/10 Good

I stayed at the Travel Inn while attending a conference in Alaska. It was one of the only options available at an affordable price (lodging in Anchorage is super expensive). The stay was not great, but it had about the minimum you would expect for the cheapest option around. I had read a lot of comments online from a while ago mentioning bed bugs and such and was therefore a little stressed and very cautious, but those issues seem to have been fixed: I didn’t see any bugs in the room and checked the mattress under the sheets, which had a thick sealed plastic mattress protector around it and no trace of bugs. I will say, the bed was big and I found it surprisingly very comfortable. The area seemed a little sketchy but nothing too crazy. My main issue with the room was the cleanliness level: it had been cleaned, but very superficially (mystery stains in the bathroom, unknown scraps of food in the fridge, sticky remote control, very dusty corners, etc.) so I had to clean a few things myself. The front desk person was super nice, welcoming and helpful. He really tried his best and I truly appreciated that. It seems the hotel is understaffed and might have difficult clients. I think these are most likely the main issues. If you’re on a budget in Anchorage and stay at the Travel Inn, you won’t have the best experience in the world but you’ll be fine.

Dirty, Dirty, Dirty

Nothing was clean. It did not appear that the sheets had been changed, There were body impressions on the sheets when we pulled back the top cover. We went to the office to get clean sheets, and were give different sheets, they were not folded simply wadded up so there was no telling if they were clean or dirt. No toilet paper and was told by the night manager he could not give out any toilet paper. The sink had razer stubble and the tub had soap build up where one sits the soap and shampoo bottles. Dirty, Dirty, Dirty. Oh yes and most of this hotel is for long stays not overnight stays.

Disgusting!!!

If I could give this hotel a rating of "minus 10", I would. It was the dirtiest/smelliest place I have ever stayed. The bed was made with 1 fitted sheet and 1 top sheet only. There were only 2 towels in the bathroom....no bathmat and no hand towels or face towels. If we could have left, we would have but there was nowhere else to go. Listing says that there is a city view but what you are looking out to is a body shop for cars. Also the cost of this hotel is way over priced. We stayed at a different hotel, which was a lot nicer, better area of town and the room was great. Lots of towels, bed was made properly and there was even a breakfast included...and all at a cheaper price. Do yourself a favour and don't stay here.

Horrible!!

1.Horrible place, feels like scary all the time 2. we tried to make Check in at 5:30 pm and the reception man told us in very bad way that we need come back and try again until 7:30 pm, because he needs kick out someone... so what that mean? that our room will be dirty?? unusable?? 3. We made reservation by Hotels.com the price was good, when we arrived at Travel Inn the reception guy said that only for this occasion He will respect this price, because normally is more expensive. Really bad experience, we went to Walmart to buy a mattress cover and bleach to clean all the room. only because we couldn't find another place that night, we stay there because was we last option.

We were desperate for a place to stay on short notice after we missed our connection and landed in Anchorage at 1:30 am. We needed a place with 24 hour check-in and so selected the Travel Inn. This property should be taken off of Travelocity as the site is a barely functional hotel. The neighborhood is really sketchy and felt unsafe. The clerk opened the wrong room for us, and only after we noticed that there was no bedding did he relocate us to the correct room. There, the fridge stank and didn't function, the outlets were missing switchplates, and the shower was cold. The property was surrounded by chain link fences. At 7:15 we were awoken by street people playing music and talking loudly. No staff was around to speak to in the morning.

I was scared to stay there. The building looked like it was falling apart. I had to carry my heavy luggage up 3 flights of stairs

Checked in and there was only 1 towel for 2 people...no soap or shampoo. Within 15 minutes ofncheckin at 2am, the clerk was gone and at 9am, nobody was there. It was cold and felt dungy although room was clean.

6/10 Good

Picked it from an Orbitz list. Flew up from SF. Used twice in a week to stay between Alaska Railroad trips from Anchorage to Fairbanks & back. Austeer but clean. I was on the second floor both stays. Bring your own Walgreens hangers. Water took 2-3 minutes to get from the boiler to my room, but I always had hot water to shower in. Desk sold cokes, etc. The Korean manager went out of his way to call me cabs (my cell phone did not work). He responded to all of the property's age-related deficiencies promptly. Inexpensive restaurants are nearby. Downtown museums, etc. are within walking distance. No real fear of homeless hassles or room or car break-ins. Decent place for short term stay. Parking on site. Room had basic television. Lots of FM stations. I was there in August.

This property is currently almost closed - it literally is fenced off and apparently undergoing rehab. The room had no glasses and only two towels. I got bitten by bedbugs!! The manager was as helpful as possible, but this place is a Pit!

2/10 Poor

There was nothing I liked.. They put up a fence in front of the stairwell to the second floor to keep vagrants out.. The owner opened my door at 11pm at night with not even a knock.. Had a space heater for warmth.. TV had 5 channels.. The shampoo for the room was used.. No hot water for the bathroom sink.. Cheap bed.. He brought up a comforter when I checked in and toilet paper and towels.. Just a weird place.. No vending machines… This place could of been in the movies..
