Great stay at this hotel. Extremely clean and front desk staff was amazing! Will stay again the next time in Jackson, Mississippi!

Disappointed
I was very disappointed as when we checked in we were advised that the electricity had been shut off and had just come back on.
I appreciate things something out of the control of the hotel but I think we could have been advised before we arrived and which would have enabled us looked for another hotel.
We were unable to have a key for our rooms 3 in total. This causes issues like entering the hotel from the street. Coming and going from the rooms. We alley needed to have the person from the desk around. This did give concern for the security as there were 3 different people letting us into our rooms. Although I must say nothing went missing. Air con had just come back on but the hotels was hot !!
We arrived on the Sunday but had been advised the hotel was empty because they had to ask everyone to leave and find them alternative accommodation.
Internet was a bit hit and miss.
The restaurant was not cooking hot food and breakfast was just bagels or cereal. We had been advised hot would be available.
The area is a bit sketchy. We were with my elderly parents and it was a little uncomfortable coming in and out of the hotel to be met by people asking for money.

Beautiful hotel, bad experience
I stayed one night. My a/c went out in my room sometime overnight or in the early morning hours which caused me to wake early because I was so hot. The shower door needed servicing, it was very difficult/almost impossible to open and close. The body wash container in the shower was almost empty โ I barely had enough to wash. And there was no hair conditioner provided. I tried calling down to the front desk and no one picked up. When I checked out, I calmly explained everything that happened to the front desk associate who stated she would like to give me a refund, however, since I booked through hotels.com I would need to contact them to request the refund. She was very kind and helpful and even gave me her name to tell hotels.com. However, when hotels.com reached out to the hotel to see if they would issue a refund, they refused.

The first room they put us in was dirty. Both beds had dirty sheets - hairs in both of them. The bathroom was faulty. The whole place didn't feel good at all. Don't recommend.

I asked for a coffee maker that worked. They said they didnโt have anymore. They had prom pictures there last night and they didnโt have to have cards to use the elevator. I donโt think that is safe to open all floors to people that donโt have a room.

Historic disaster in customer service
This is a historic hotel in Jackson and so the rooms are very big and it is a scale up from a normal Hilton garden inn. That said, it is in a very bad part of town and the service is okay. One of our rooms was never cleaned nor given fresh towels. I found a wallet with id in our room and when I turned it in, the lady just looked at me and then threw it on the back counter; no, what room was it in or investigating. Finally, the last night we were there, they allowed about 100 people to spend hours taking pictures and blocking the lobby and elevators including blocking the street outside so that the guests couldnโt use the valet or get to their room.

Beautiful Property
This historic building is beautifully restored but service is slow to non-existent. The blinds in my suite did not work. I reported this upon arrival and was promised maintenance would come up. I went to the front desk late in th even to remind the manager, Maintenance Man was standing at the desk eating pizza but promised to come up later. He didn't. The next day, I was told he had been up and said he couldn't fix the blinds. This was a problem because the blinds in the bedroom and dressing area were completely up, letting in full light and causing privacy issues. The living room blinds were affixed in the down position rendering the space overly dark. Manager didn't seem to care. What a shame.
