Very friendly staff, thank you. Our room was quiet, but rather than a double we had to take a twin as there was a problem with the toilet in the original room. We appreciate that the rooms are small, being in accommodation that once was a farm house, but the twin room was very limited and not a relaxing night’s stay for two, in view of the room change it would have been welcome to have received a discount. We saw a double room on our way out and that had more space. We had seen photos on the website and didn’t feel the right impression was given. Apart from room size, the appearance from the outside is of quaint, comfortable accommodation whereas the room we were in was somewhat sterile. Also, an additional £15 per head for breakfast seemed comparatively high, especially as the previous night we had stayed near Congelton for the same rate including breakfast in a room with a massive double bed and plenty of space. We didn’t take the breakfast option. We understand the hotel does its own risk assessment, but we hadn’t expected to be asked to wear masks in public indoor areas; interestingly as we left one of the staff in the corridor wasn’t wearing a mask so the policy wasn’t being upheld. So sorry to leave negative comments, but our overnight stay was disappointing for us.
