Budget really means budget here.
Hotel staff does not speak one word of English and none of the signs in the rooms and bathroom are in English either. My room was an inside room, i.e. no windows. Pretty basic, bed was not great and other (almost exclusively Chinese) guests can be very loud at night. Not the best place I have been to.

Hotpot restaurant just down the street!
Good price for a basic room to sleep and shower. Close to subway and restaurants and near People's Square. Wifi is fast, but only in lobby. Counter staff seemed not willing to help if didn't know English. Taxi driver did not know how to find without our assistance using screen shots of the Hotels.com map. If you don't speak Mandarin, get the address or directions written in Chinese characters.
