쿄마치야 호텔 시키쥬라쿠

Great way to stay in boutique style authentic Japanese townhouse - traditional style but with all mod cons, very helpful staff (perfect service, attentive, but not overly so) and absolutely excellent breakfast included (not typical western or eastern style, but very delicious). Location near Castle, but otherwise a bit out of the way - although Kyoto is generally quite spread about & bus stop nearby so easy to get around.

Great rooms. Very stylish. The breakfasts are out of this world. The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful about the local area. We had a great stay with lots of nice memories. Will be coming back.

A uniquely modern yet cozy spot just a few blocks from the heart of Kyoto. My boyfriend and I spent two nights there but wished we could have stayed longer. The staff and breakfast were stupendous and the room smelled like a log cabin in the best way possible. Two floors with lots of space and fogged out windows so we could have light with a touch of privacy. The amenities in the room were endless - we've already recommended the hotel to some friends and hope others are as happy with it as we were!

Fantastic hotel, not as fancy as other ryokens but just as cool in terms of design etc
