Booked a garden suite with a plunge pool but didn’t get it although we had paid extra for it. We were told we had been upgraded to a suite which was on the fourth floor with a grubby jacuzzi bathtub on the balcony. Again not what we had booked. The hotel was tired looking but clean.
Dinner was a bit of a fiasco. Firstly we couldn’t have wine with dinner. This was fine and not the fault of the hotel. It was because of the hotel’s close proximity to the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic. However, I think would be guests should be warned ahead of time. In the restaurant, my partner & I ordered our main courses and my partner ordered a side of fries to accompany his. Firstly the fries arrived which we commenced eating. When they were finished, my main arrived but not his. He now ordered a second side of fries to go with his main which finally arrived but no fries until his main was finished. We were the only two people in the restaurant.
That night after reviewing the hotel I had an apologetic call from the duty manager. The next morning the service at breakfast was exemplary and on check out they wanted to refund the cost of the dinner which we declined since we had eaten the food and the gripe was with the delivery not the quality and with charging us for the room we didn’t get.
