10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay at this hotel, and the staff really went out of their way to make it pleasant. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. The room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed spending time on the balcony overlooking the river, where it was easy to relax and watch the birds. Mornings came with the sounds of howler monkeys, and evenings by the river were filled with frogs, which added to the atmosphere. The hotel has a great restaurant, and eating outside in the evenings was very enjoyable. Bug spray is a must, but the geckos on the patio ceiling were clearly doing their best to keep the mosquitoes in check. Overall, it was an easy, relaxing stay, and we’d be happy to come back."
"Our stay at Bocawina rainforest resort was amazing! The staff was super friendly and it was beautiful. Brian was our server the whole time for breakfast lunch and dinner and he was fantastic. Ziplining was so fun and the falls are incredible. The food was also great "
"This is perhaps or ninth stay at this property. We had not been to Belize since 2022, and I can say that the quality of service and the property is even better than before - and before it was fantastic.
Dory assisted with our room selection and checked on us our entire trip. She was accommodating and patient with us!
Since 2022, there is a whole new resort on the property - the Banks - which comes with a new restaurant - Humo. While we preferred the food at the Grove and Don Totino's, the atmosphere at Humo is insanely beautiful.
Indeed, the entire property is lovely with a great hike to a gazebo which gives you a lovely view of the mountains and the "Sleeping Giant." There are other hikes on property and I understand they will be offering yoga in the future. If you do not have a car, there are great trips that you can take, including a Ceremonial Cave (which I have done in the past and it was quite cool) tour, expeditions to Mayan ruins, cave tubing or kayaking, and cooking classes.
There are different room types so check into what you most prefer. We have to been to most and like all but one that is too near the road and road noise by reception.
It is a slice of paradise in the middle of the jungle that I cannot recommend enough!"
"This resort was everything we were hoping it would be! It was liking walking into the White Lotus resorts! The grounds were beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend! "
"The most amazing staff and the concierge was next level. Never had such an amazing experience anywhere else. The property and our villa was absolutely stunning. We will definitely be coming back"
"What an amazing hotel & room. This is one of our favorites of all time. We stayed for 3 nights
Food: Every meal was fantastic as we ate breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. The fry jacks at breakfast were superb. The prices were reasonable for the meal we ate. The selection changed at each meal. Even our picky eater was very happy. Highly recommend the cheese tasting which you will need to reserve in advance. We lucked out and were able to join due to a cancellation.
Staff: Very helpful and super friendly. Superb service. We got the feeling that the staff wants the hotel to succeed and is concerned about each detail.
Room: We stayed in the Luxury suite. The view from the balcony was stunning. We were one of the highest rooms. There were a lot of steps to get to the rooms up top(~136 of them), but totally worth it if you can do it. The 'outdoor' shower was a great experience. The room had two showers; the outdoor one overlooking the jungle was something. The room was very clean and well-stocked, including water. Make sure you have a flashlight or a phone with a light for walking around at night.
Tours: We booked the ATM(caves) and Mayan ruins tours through the hotel. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and fun. The ATM caves were the highlight of the trip. As long as you keep active and don't have serious knee or back issues, this was a truly unique and memorable experience. The artifacts were left untouched(other than a few mishaps with tourists)."
