Sidmouth is a wonderful care free place with friendly people. The place itself hasn't changed much in the last 40 years that I have known of it. It's a lovely place to have a rest and enjoy the scenery, beautiful gardens and walks.

Admittedly we were out of season but it was obvious how much effort goes in to keeping the town smart. And the South Coast path runs through the town.

We visited in March, so many shops were closed. Could never have navigated the streets without Google Maps... But found a car park by the waterfront, so we got to see the channel.

"Breakfast was excellent. Bar meal was good but not great selection. Main Restaurant was too expensive. The room was great, very comfortable. the Seaview was obscured bey vegetation, but after some discussion, the gardener cut the offending vegetation back which mad the view perfect."
"The moment we arrived, we were overwhelmed with the outstanding beauty of the countryside and with the quality of the hotel which was also very spacious. We felt very pampered by the facilities provided. Maria in charge of the breakfast showed unprecedented professionalism and was very welcoming.
I would have liked to have seen a few seats scattered around outside, other than just by the clubhouse. Nevertheless we will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff."
