The hotel was beautiful, decorated to match its lovely regal 1800's build and all of the furnishings were well cared for and clean.
Upon arrival, parking was difficult due to spaces being so tightly packed in and the £10 per night to park there was a bit of a naughty, previously undisclosed addition to the price.
Our room was lovely, well spaced out, clean and jad everything it needed, but the view was awful. Granted we had one of the cheaper standard rooms, but I thought £200 for 2 nights would have got us a bit of a better view than the side of a roof, so be careful if you are in an odd numbered level 1 room, it will not be a sea view or picturesque courtyard. Breakfast was nice enough for the price of £12 with plenty of choice.
My only other quibble was the misleading information about NHS discount. They bragged a 20% discount on the healthservice discounts website, but when i brought this up, the server had not heard of it, upon speaking to a manager they confirmed that they stopped nhs discount after Covid rules relaxed, but hadnt cancelled it on the website! They should have honoured the discount as it was their error, and i gave up my discount at the local premier inn to support an independent business.
