Between the bats and the bands, Austin's weirdness is a point of pride. Sixth Street's legendary music venues showcase tomorrow's stars, while food trucks serve brisket that locals debate with religious fervor. Barton Springs Pool offers natural swimming in the heart of Zilker Park, where dogs outnumber children on sunny afternoons. The nightly exodus of Mexican free-tailed bats from Congress Bridge draws crowds who gasp at the spectacle. Lady Bird Lake's trail fills with joggers who pause for skyline selfies, while South Congress shops sell cowboy boots alongside artisanal chocolates. For the full Austin experience, catch a show at the historic Paramount Theatre or Moody Theater, where even the security staff can spot musical genius.

"Very clean property, very easy to get in and out . Have to pay for parking , not that great"

Hotel Van Zandt
"The hotel location was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room were clean and comfortable. My only negative was the not so bright hallways to get to the room, but I would definitely stay here again."
Hyatt House Austin/Downtown
"Our room was spacious and comfortable. The only "do better" is to regrout some of the shower. It appears there is some stained grout that makes it look like mold (not sure if it was or not). The staff was excellent and so helpful whenever we had questions."

"Parking, staff"
Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown
"Staff was great, room was clean and spacious, and all of the common areas were well kept during a busy festival weekend."
Aiden Austin City Hotel
"This place is great. Close to the airport and the city, and very easy to find. Parking is included. The staff was friendly, welcoming and attentive. It was just a quick overnight stay for me, but I got a nice grab-and-go morning snack too."
Holiday Inn Austin -Town Lake by IHG
"Stayed 5 days. Location is the selling point, as we wanted the walkability and we got it. The hotel is old, but they make the effort to keep it clean. The staff was wonderful without exception. The free parking was convenient and easy to use. The bathroom had been updated to a walk in shower, which was fine - but the floor tiles in front of the toilet weren't attached. I expect the floor wasn't perfectly level when they did the remodel. Ceiling showed seams in drywall from expansion/moisture. Windows overlooking the lake were FILTHY - made it hard to justify the extra expense for the top floor with a lake view. Room fridge and keurig worked fine. Could use an extra outlet at the desk - the light and the fridge/microwave were using both outlets, so the lamp got unplugged. Lamp did have usb charger outlet, which was nice."

During your visit, you'll find great value for money exploring vibrant live music venues, engaging theater performances, and lively festivals. Don't miss the chance to experience the unique urban atmosphere, enjoy art galleries, or take a bike ride around the university area. With so much to see and do, Austin offers an affordable getaway for those on a budget.

You'll be among the first to know if prices drop or rooms become available, making it easier to book your spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find better rates for your stay in an Austin hotel. If you're interested in unique accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalized experience and sometimes offer greater value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your selected dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more budget-friendly, helping you potentially discover a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near downtown typically cost more, but thanks to Austin's excellent public transportation, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further out that’s still well connected. For those looking to explore alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
