A little slice of heaven
The room and view were Amazing!! The staff even left me a personal Birthday cake in my room. The nightly shows were great. Hotel was prime location-walk to Atlantis casino and straw market/Atlantis shopping marina. Staff was always friendly and helpful.

Bad experience.
We had multiple issues while on our state. 1) The refused to give us more water for our room, which as an all-inclusive was terrible. 2) The sauna in the spa was broken the whole week stay and hot tub was reservation only 3) The staff booking our adventures messed up, and they all got canceled. 4) Overall the staff was very rude and seemed like none of them wanted to work there. We have another trip 5 families going to RIU in cabo and I am debating cancelling and staying somewhere else to the issues we had.

RIU stay
Stay was great, the hotel, pool area and room were all 5 out of 5, Buffet was amazing, the only issue I had was the restaurants, the food is pre cooked and did not seem fresh, we ate only at the steak house and did not try the others, seemed like all of them had pre cooked food already. The buffet food was way better then the restaurants in my opinion. But overall, i would stay here again.

This hotel is nestled in a cozy spot right by the very beautiful ocean. I would have given it a 5 but there was a few blemishes that I could not give it a perfect score. Starting with the check in process there is no way guests should have to wait over 45 minutes to even be called up to be checked in . We never offered a welcome drink and the young lady Indy whose line were originally standing in seemed confused about the whole process and was trying to multitask and failed miserably. Magnolia who eventually checked us in although efficient was neither warm not inviting. Nevertheless there were many employees who went above and beyond exceptional customer service ensuring we had an amazing stay. Terrance and Andrewnique at the steak house amazing hospitality and service and I did enjoy my birthday dinner there. Kellen in the bar was amazing friendly and hardworking .Fritznel and Ricardo at the pool bar A-1 service. Shaddy in the restaurant superb service. Devon and Harl, Anthony and Rashad all executed exceptional customer service knowledgeable about drinks and made us feel welcomed as guests. Tweety also helpful in calypso. On the other hand Dekell and Katherine never acknowledged us never asked did we need anything and pretty much ignored us. This was the same energy Akeem had never said hello just stared and said nothing. And again Ricardo came to work overnight solo and was amazing again. The fact that they share tips and everyone didn’t put in as much effort is unfair

Never again riu is a miss
Food was bland cold and tasteless. The room key needed to be changed daily stopped working. Attitude of some staff was really good but others were just rude and lazy unless you were a young women. Drinks are warm. Air conditioning in room was poor plus had mold in the vents . Now Have a chest infection. Music around the pool could not get away from . Plus they played 2 different types from bar and pool so mixed .

When we first arrived we were told that to make dinner reservations that we had to scan the QR code. Once I tried scanning it they had told me the WiFi was out and that I wouldn’t be able to make the reservation. THEN they told me all the restaurants are booked for that night anyways. I was told since it’s my first day there I probably won’t get a reservation for the first two nights bc it goes to priority of the guests who were there before me. Once they saw how upset I was they said that I could try going to the resturtants at 6:45 to see if anyone canceled. So at 6:45 we went down and all the restaurants said they were booked. Funny thing was, when you looked in they were completely empty!!!! That’s when I finally ask to spoke to the manager. He told me there was nothing he could do it was policy. I said if they are going to make reservations this hard that they should be able to let’s us book the places the same day we book the hotel. He also said to try to make a reservation online for the next night, funny not funny the WiFi was STILL out. So I tried telling him that and once again nothing he could do. Best he tells me is to go back to the resturtant at 7:15 to see if they had any cancellations. He ended up finding us a couple minutes later and getting us a table and accommodating us for the rest of our stay which was nice, but we shouldn’t have to fight and complain to be able to eat!!!!!

Its a lot smaller than I expected but that also made it more personal. If that makes sense. You quickly become familiar with the staff and other guests. Its a little outdated but it was clean. Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay.

The food was great but the room had roaches and very loud we we awaken by employees and guests routinely over our 6 night stay. The room key stopped working just about every night. The restaurants were booked for all but one night during our stay.

I really liked that everything was easily accessible. Disappointed that the rooms were outdated. Building was in dire need of paint. Room attendants were not attentive to replacing towels and cups properly. Didn't like that maintenance staff entered room to do upgrade without informing us beforehand. Specialty restaurants were tasty but nothing was served hot.

This is the worst RIU that I've stay. I've stayed at 5 so far. Staff is as rude. Drink selection was none existent. Do yourself a favor and buy alcohol before you arrive if you choose to stay here. Reservation for the restaurants was difficult. They purposely stated the reservations are filled but every night the restaurants were empty. We finally complained and were able to get reservations. It wasn't just a us. Everyone we talked to talked about had issues making reservations. The main buffet was just ok. The food wasn't bad. They just didn't have enough selection. Will I ever visit this RIU again. Absolutely NOT
