Our Chicago Adventure
The service was excellent, but the tv in the bedroom area didn't work. The maintenance man tried to get it to, but was unsuccessful. The management did take 20% off our stay, so we were happy with that! I was also surprised that there wasn't an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The mirror took forever to clear off all the moisture because of that. Overall we had a nice stay. The location was very convenient!

Just ok. Pros: price was right, location convenient, room was clean, staff friendly, bed fairly comfy, plenty of towels, good showerhead. Cons: directly across from the fire station, hot and stuffy and slightly smelly room, room hvac unit ridiculously loud, people walking and laughing on sidewalk were loud all night, no body wash in the shower. It was a couple days faster Christmas, so very very busy. Not sure I would book here again.

Missed a spot
I came to stay with my daughters for a weekend in Chicago. We came to stay at the Fairfield on Friday night, and were very pleased with our room, as it was clean and very comfortable and had an excellent view. However, after we got home from seeing a theater production downtown, I came back into the room and took off my shoes. I felt something stuck to the bottom of my sock as I walked across the room, and found that it was a clump of marijuana that somehow had not gotten picked up off of the hotel room floor. it smelled terrible and was an unfortunate thing to have to go through with my two daughters. I wish the room did not have that experience, because everything else about the hotel was great.

Great stay. Go Buckeyes.
Very convenient location, and had a wonderful first stay in the windy city. Many reviews mention the fire station across the street, but we only heard one or two sirens at night, it really wasn't that bad - maybe we got lucky. The only negative worth mentioning is mostly personal preference: our sink faucet was set so far back on the counter that it was difficult to wash our hands. They should explore replacing these short-armed faucets so the water is not right up against the back of the sinks. I was also over-charged for the valet (which was very convenient, by the way), but the staff quickly issued me a refund for the difference. Be sure to check your final bill at check-out.

Short walk across the river from the Blue Line; very short walk to Red Line. Room was pleasant, if a little small. It was fine for one person but I cannot see two people trying to maneuver in the limited floor space. Also, a small closet, but well-supplied with hangers. (Yay!) Desk chair seriously needs replacement. Bathroom was great; good counter space and loved the shower. (Downside: toilet is very low for someone 6'1" with cranky knees) Bed was comfy, but why do hotels insist on over-padding their mattresses? Never made it to breakfast. Would certainly stay here again.
