Hotels.com helped me book a room at a CLOSED HOTEL
This hotel had been sold a month prior to my booking. I found this out at 9pm from ANOTHER HOTEL after showing up to a dark, snowy, locked up lobby that had 3 phone numbers listed, all of which didn't work. After calling all of the numbers then frantically googling other options, another couple showed up at the lobby also stating that they had made reservations in advance. After some confusion, we all realized we were screwed. I had to immediately figure out a solution as it was a cold winter night and most lobbies close at 10pm. I got lucky and was able to a room at a hotel across the street, where I found out about this hotel being sold. Since the hotel was sold and the business fully shut down, why did hotels.com fully charge me for 2 nights then leave me stranded?
