We booked a room in the Accra Luxury Gardens (Embassy Gardens) on November 1, 2024 through Hotel.com and received a confirmation email. After traveling to Accra, we arrived and were told that the Embassy Gardens were completely booked. How does something like that happen?
They then rerouted us to a different property, assuring me that the properties are the same when they simply are not. The Avant Garde doesn’t have the green space, luxury pool, bar, or restaurant on site that the Embassy Garden does. Additionally, they refused to accommodate us for the major inconvenience, simply offering a single free breakfast. The windows and sliding doors were not secured and locked, and the bedding had blood stains.This level of customer service, or lack thereof, was absolutely unacceptable. Yet they claimed that the rates charged for our original reservation at the Embassy Garden was the same as the downgraded property. We asked to be refunded a portion of our payment as we do not have access to the amenities and prime airport location that we were entitled to from our original reservation.
Despite multiple efforts to amicably resolve the issue, they have not been accommodating.
