6/10 Good

I booked a room last minute during a big festival in a very small town for only night. Since this was a last minute booking, i paid nearly $250 for just the one night. Unbeknownst to me, I booked an ADA room. No problem. The gentleman who checked me in was very nice. The problem lies in the room itself. The walk-in shower was gross. It had moldy grout and mold moving up the wall from the grout line. The bed, dressed in bright white bedding, had stains and black strands of hair on it. The room also had a smell to it. I went to the local Walmart to purchase a can of Lysol. I sprayed the shower down to help kill whatever fungus may be growing on the shower pan and the wall. I sprayed the bedding, the carpet, the couch, and went back to spray the bathroom down again. Would i stay there again, probably not. Do I think this hotel room was worth the money I paid for it - no. But compared to the alternative I could have had, it was a room with a bed and a shower.

Continental breakfast was day old coffee. Parking with a trailer was a challenge. The hvac was deficient, everything seemed damp in the room but the air was on and running. First aid kit and garbage sitting outside the one entry way door. Not terribly dirty, but not clean though either.

I liked that it was so close to everything in Tomah. The man at the front desk was very polite and helpful. The room was nice. The only three negatives are: meh continental breakfast, couple screaming across the hall all day, and no elevator. I thought it was a nice hotel for the price. I would go back, i just hope to god the couple arguing wont be there the next time.

A bit dodgy
Pros: Hotel is dog friendly, easy to find, free contentiental breakfast (standard fruit, yogurt, muffins, oatmeal, cereal), and adjacent to a Kwik Trip and Denny's. Room and bathroom were clean, and bed was comfortable. Cons: Being located immediately off the interstate, it is a busy location which also attracts some questionable characters. To be honest, I was a bit worried about my car. There were many guests that causally lingered in the lot smoking, yelling into their phone, or yelling at each other between sundown and early morning hours (I had to let my dog out so was aware of my surroundings). Also, the gentleman who was at the front desk when I checked in was a bit too overly friendly and was asking too personal of questions. Working part-time in a customer service role for 18 or so yrs, you learn to read people. I was not a fan of the banter. Overall: I would not stay here multiple nights in a row nor would I stay here alone.
