I had written one wish to reservation prior to arrival: a non-smoking room is important (kid has astma). Arrived in the evening for 2 nights, and room stank terribly of cigarette smoke. Returned to front desk, explained situation and asked for another room. Not available. Asked for any kind of room. Not possible. Asked for cleaning staff, some spray, anything. Not available. Asked front desk lady to call someone to find spray or cleaning staff or manager or whatever. She said she didn't have any numbers. Asked if there are vacancy in other hotels of this chain in the area, she told me to find out myself. She said she will let cleaning staff know and they will "fix it" tomorrow. Used astma meds, stayed night very unwillingly. Left out early morning, returned evening. Room untouched. No room cleaning, nothing done at all for stank or otherwise. Same front desk lady made me feel it was my fault, I should have asked for room change in the morning. Wait what? She said she's going to inform cleaning staff. Finally, very unwillingly she gave another room for 2nd night. Spent night doing laundry as everything stank of cigarettes.
Seriously, the only thing I asked for was a non-smoking room and they give me one with serious smoke, and act as I was the problem. I understand that mistakes happen, but then you should be ready to fix them.
Ps. I wrote private feedback to hotel immediately. Now, 4 days later I still have not received any response, so I make public feedback.
