Wander through the eclectic mix of Art Nouveau and Communist-era architecture in the tree-lined boulevards. Explore the massive Palace of Parliament, then unwind with a coffee in the charming Old Town.
Some very beautiful buildings/parks, but not a pretty city, like some others. Ceauțescu bulldozed lots of the beauty to replace with drab communist blocks but it's a very interesting city. Did some excellent Guru walks and a day trip to Translyvania.

Only stayed for a couple of days but visited Therme which I would definitely recommend after a long day exploring the city (it's open till 11pm at night and you can get drinks in the pool). Also did a Cycling Tour of the city which was a great.

The city is very safe everywhere. The people are nice and friendly. Most speak basic English so no problem finding anything out. Uber is a great way to get around. Be careful in the old town tourist area as bars may try to make you pay more.

Great people I would rec that tourists learn a little bit of Romanian to respect the local culture. Please read about ancient Romanian history - it is fascinating. Food excellent- in my opinion Romanian food is the best in Western Asia ( aka Europe)

Lots of Historical Buildings to see and be fascinated if you are into architecture. Some buildings in some areas has fallen into disrepair and needs refurbishment. Lots of eateries in town and dining is great. Not very an expensive city to tour

Loads to see and do in city centre. Potential to be stunning but quite rundown with loads of graffiti. Public transport is brilliant and a travelcard is very cheap. We managed to use credit cards and euros for everything.

Lots to do and see with excellent underground service within the city. Only transport from the airport are buses and taxis, the underground is being extended to the airport but as from December 2024 no time of when it might be completed.
"A Memorable Stay at The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection!
Our stay at The Marmorosch Bucharest, Autograph Collection was absolutely amazing. This hotel is truly one of a kind, its unique architecture and rich history are beautifully reflected throughout the building, giving it a special charm that sets it apart.
From the moment we arrived, the experience felt luxurious. We were warmly welcomed at reception with a glass of sparkling wine and big smiles from the friendly staff, it was such a lovely touch.
Our room was spacious with a super comfy bed, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. One of the highlights was the wellness area: the pool, as well as both dry and wet saunas, are complimentary for guests and added a true sense of indulgence to our stay.
The location is another big plus, just a short walk from Bucharest’s beautiful Old Town, making it easy to explore on foot.
I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a memorable and luxurious experience in Bucharest."
"Very nice location, close to transportation but once you leave the hotel there are many bad things: Bucharest is in very bad condition, many abandoned buildings, central station is in advanced state of degradation, a lot of gipsies and graffiti everywhere. There Is not a single side walk without holes, if you are not paying attention, you can break your legs. Overall the city is so dirty, walls are full of graffiti, looks like a ghetto. Quality of people is low, drunk peasants, young low quality idiots. Hotel is fine. "
"I stayed for 4 days total, during this time the staff was extremely nice, they borrowed me an adapter to charge my phone, provided me with recommendations and the breakfast was amazing! My room had the gorgeous view to the city and it was located in the middle of the old town! 100% recommended!"
