Amsterdam break
It's a very very basic hotel so don't expect anything you would normally get even with another budget hotel! Great location for city exploring. and frieldy staff, but that's it. Room was poor, bed poor, facilities broken and not working . Clean linen for bed but very run down room.

It is a dated establishment but clean and quiet. The location is excellent, and the price is reasonable. The little bar is an oasis of calm in a busy city.

So this is an older hotel in the *middle* of Amsterdam. Lay your expectaions from other experiences aside and expect that you are staying in an old, beautiful, classic hotel, that will take you to another world and time if you let it. Staff were so helpful. The owner literally spent an hour on the phone trying to help us find an emergency dental service for our daughter, who was having problems with her braces. They are super accommodating, welcoming and they give you free coffee and tea in the morning to make you feel right at home. We slept well, felt so safe and taken care of. Book with confidence!!!

The staff was super friendly. Free, coffee drinks in the morning. I ordered the capucinno- delicious. The area was super convienient to everything, right on a canal. The property itself was older and not updated, but the location, cost and staff made it lovely.

A great place to stay in Paris
The neighborhood is safe and close to excellent cafes, bike lanes, and metro. The staff were terrific. Very kind and attentive to any request we had. The room was all we could ask for (clean, quiet, comfy, etc).

Good for short stays and ease of location!
Location very good. Rooms quite small, comfortable bedding. Inconsistent amenities between rooms. Ground floor front rooms often had late night/early morning people just outside room standing or talking loudly. Upstairs room to small courtyard seemed quite dark all the time and could not leave curtains open due to other rooms windows facing us. Towels were very small and would not dry out.

Good central stay in the heart of Amsterdam
A basic no frills single room on the top floor of the hotel. I certainly did get my steps in while in Amsterdam. Being. 6 ft 4in the room was quite cramped and a little hunch backing was necessary to make sure I didn't keep hitting my head :D. It is very central and allows for easy walking distances to the main attractions and museums. Staff were friendly and a good base while in Amsterdam.

2/10 Poor

The room we had was in a terrible state. Broken tiles and flaking ceiling in the shower, plus the wooden shower door was warped and water damaged and looked mouldy. The window frames were dilapidated, black mould in the corners. Our bed covers were stained, very thin and didn’t fit the bed properly. We had no facilities in our room, no shower gel, no soap, no tea and coffee. Our bath towels were little more than hand towels. The noise at night was unbearable and kept us up till the early hours, shouting and screaming and what sounded like a small herd of elephants above us on the next floor. When we arrived we were charged €160 euros for “taxes”. We queried this and they refunded us €100. What an awful place this is. We will not visit again.
