I was not happy when I first got there. They changed our room without asking a day before we checked in with out notifying us first. I walked into two queens instead of a king bed! When I went down and complained about the change of room they said there was nothing they could do because they overbooked on king rooms. The manager would not be in till the next morning. So she told me that there were no rooms left to change it too. I talked to the manager the next morning and she said she would give me reward points but will take up two 2 days to see it. I asked how many points she said she was not sure. I asked how does the points work she was not sure!!!! She told me since Expedia was a third party that we were low priority compared to the other guests even though I’m a rewards member! She also told me that they couldn’t get a hold of me but I told since I’m a rewards member that they had my number to call me. Then she back peddled and then said they dropped the ball.So if you go through Expedia your reservation doesn’t mean anything!!!! I’m not very happy, at least call me and tell me that you’re changing my room and it should not matter if I used a third party booking either! It’s not Expedia fault. It’s the hotel fault.

My grandchildren and I went to Dubuque for 2 days to swim and go to the aquarium. The hotel was close to the museum. However, our room was by the elevator and the elevator itself was very loud. Also, the pool temperature was fine, but the room was very loud even when the kids were quiet.

Room was not what was reserved. Staff didn't care. Unwilling to look at my Expedia receipt. Couldn't get full refund. Unable to find other accommodations and had to drive four hours back home and cancel vacation. Expedia won't post this anyways so who cares

After checking in and getting to our room, the fragrance that was sprayed in the room was over powering as if they were deliberately trying to cover up some sort of nasty odor - the fragrance was offensive, it was just way too strong. The temperature in the mini fridge was not adjustable. The entire hotel was out of kleenex - housekeeping couldn't find any on their cart & when going to the front desk we were told we were being given the last box! The breakfast area was a pig pen the entire weekend. On Sunday morning while still serving breakfast, they ran out of coffee & couldn't keep up with demand. They also ran out of oatmeal. Our room had no laundry bag or do not disturb sign. We found a coffee cup on the floor right by the bed when entering the room which means a very poor job of vacuuming because they missed the cup. There were kids running around all weekend making a lot of noise but the staff seemingly did nothing to keep them quiet. We also thought the room was way over priced considering there weren't any large events going on in Dubuque that weekend that we were aware of. At least the staff was helpful & friendly and always available at the front desk.
