Lovely Stay
Restaurant food was good and convenient! Breakfast was nice. Location was great! Staff was friendly. Room was a little crowded for 3 adults but staff was able to provide an extra room at the last minute.

I travel to Iceland every few months, and have stayed in countless hotels throughout the country. This is a very nice hotel, however, the beds… the softest I have seen in my life. I could not sleep one minute all night long. If you are a person who likes even a low-grade firmness, you will have trouble as I did. There is absolutely no support as you sink into the bed. For this reason alone, unfortunately I will not patron this hotel again.

Loved the path behind the hotel that lead to the glacier. Great place for watching the Northern Lights.

This is a basic hotel with a good location. The room met our needs for our one night stay. The breakfast buffet was the best part with lots of options and plenty to eat. We appreciated the “aurora wake up service”, added our name to the call list and promptly received a call when they came out in the sky. Thank you!

This area doesn’t have a lot of choices but this is a great choice. Lots of parking, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. They offer a Northern Lights wake up call so you don’t miss out, a nice touch! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Heated floors 😳
This was one of my favorite stays on my entire trip!!! All because of the heated floors 😂 loved that they called for an Aurora wake up call and I didn’t even have to go outside, I just opened my window and there they were. Breakfast was great and it was early which I loved so I could start my day.

It’s an older hotel but nice staff and great location. Good breakfast, good dinner but expensive but then again everything is expensive in Iceland. One of the few places around to eat so having a good restaurant at the hotel was appreciated! You can walk from the hotel to the park and glacial lakes within minutes. Rooms and beds were weathered but clean. Expensive overall but location was great.

Overnight Stay in Skaftafell
Hotel Skaftafell is the only hotel located in Skaftafell and we chose it to be close to the National Park for a glacier hike. The view out of our room was of a glacier and there was a short trail to it. Hotel staff were helpful upon arrival and informed us that our only options for dinner were the hotel or the convenience store across the street. We opted for the convenience store since we were heading to the glacier lagoon. The beds were not very comfortable so glad it was only a one night stay. Breakfast was included and it was good. If you’re traveling the Ring Road and need a place to stay for one night I would recommend this hotel.
