ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile
"We booked this hotel as it was reasonably priced, central and dog friendly. It was £10 extra for dog, although they have recently increased to £15. Staff were great - doted on the dog, gave him treats, dropped off a bed and dog bowl on our room. Room was simple and clean - kettle and hairdryer included. There was an ironing room down the hall. We never visited the bar and restaurant bit the pictures looked nice! Would recommend if looking for somewhere mid range in the city centre."
Apex Grassmarket Hotel
"Great location during the Fringe! Very cleaning and incredible buffet breakfast! Would stay here again!"
Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Edinburgh

With an itinerary that spans at least 2 to 3 days, travelers can immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of the city by exploring its castle, museums, historical tours, art exhibits, theater performances, monuments, and shopping districts. The city offers great value for money, and hotel prices might drop during these months, making it an affordable destination for those looking to experience Edinburgh's landmark attractions and vibrant cultural scene.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers travelers a chance to save on Edinburgh trips through DealsOpens in a new window and Last-Minute Deals . You may discover discounted rates on hotels as your travel date nears by checking these sections. With email alerts or push notifications enabled, you could find flash sales and special promotions just in time. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app helps you compare hotel prices and amenities, so if rooms become available or prices drop, you're more likely to see an opportunity to book a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your Edinburgh hotel stay. For those interested in unique accommodations, boutique hotels may offer a more personalized experience and potentially better value. When booking with Hotels.com, we'll let you know if the price for your selected dates is above or below the average, and if it's on the higher side, we might suggest more affordable dates to help you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Edinburgh's fantastic public transportation, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit farther out that’s still well-connected. For those interested in exploring less crowded neighborhoods or even nearby cities that aren’t as well-known, there’s often great value to be found. Opting for these alternative locations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
