Renovating restaurant so had to go to a coffee shop. Arrived in very bad rain. NO umbrellas at reception to lend to guests forced to go out in rain. Safe in a VERY bad place just above ground. No bin in room for recycling. No plug on desk for laptop. staff friendly and helpful. Well positioned at entrance to safe Waterfront.

Good potential. Check building works are complete.
This hotel is in a great location for Cape Town and we suspect will become a very good travellers hotel, once the building works are complete. Hotel.com and the hotel should have advised us in advance that this would in effect be a room only with all other facilities missing at this time. No complaints at all about the staff who helped as best they could.

shame about loss of relaxation facilities
restaurant and leisure facilities closed. alternatives offered by management for eating in room and adjacent restaurant which I didn’t use. hotel across road had good and reasonably priced menu which I found more than acceptable, otherwise evening dining required long walk to V&A or Uber (reliable and cheap). rooms recently updated clean, bright and fresh with kettle and posh coffee maker. very efficient A/C, exceptionally helpful and cheerful staff coped well with cramped mini reception facility. enjoyed my stay but advertised relaxation facilities unavailable and there didn’t seem any chance of returning when work finishes (splash pool and garden) as area now very cramped.

Good location and pleasant rooms, although storage space is very limited and the outlook was poor - containers and a building site. However, a major problem was that, although I had been advised 8 or 9 months ago that there was construction work going on this did not explicitly say that the swimming pool was out of action or that there would be no food available in the hotel (apart from a vending machine for crisps etc. in reception). As a single female I did not feel safe going out alone in the evenings in Cape Town so had a miserable time living off sandwiches in my room for a week. Had they been more honest and upfront I would have cancelled and stayed elsewhere. There was no apology or compensation offered.

Not only is the hotel undergoing massive construction, the walls are paper thin, I can hear absolutely everything in the hallways and in other rooms, house keeping work me up twice barging in even tho I loudly shouted no thank you (there are no signs to hang on the door to decline housekeeping and there are no deadbolts on the hotel doors) -- who does this at 8:30am?!?!! This is grossly overpriced hotel for what we actually get -- overall poor experience sadly
