Séjour parfait

Excellent accueil avec plein d’attentions très appréciables (chaussons et peignoir à disposition pour la piscine, biscuits et carafe d’eau fraîche tous les jours dans la chambre, cadeau de départ…). Chambre superbe et tout confort. Décor magnifique et petit déjeuner avec des produits de qualité. Bref, séjour parfait ! On ne peut que recommander vivement les Hauts de Gageac. Encore merci aux hôtes pour tout.

Lovely location near town, with delicious breakfast and comfy room! FYI, parking access is tricky, as steep, skinny, and sharp turns (not good for larger vehicles, be comfy reversing around curve, and try to arrive first time in daylight!), but instructions are clear. Just a heads-up! It’s not a reason to avoid as the guest experience is top notch!!

Amazing property high above the river with great views. The pool are is awesome though not in season. The best part was Fredric’ and Lawrence. Amazing hosts, great breakfast and overall wonderful stay. Don’t miss this place you will love it.

A wonderful relaxing environment in a peaceful location on the edge of the village. Delicious breakfasts, and a restful garden around the pool. Plenty of areas to sit and relax - we just needed the weather to brighten up! Simply fantastic.

We had a lovely stay at this wonderful place. The owners were very nice and welcoming. The place is kept very clean and is comfortable with all needs met. Stay was pretty amazing. The owners were also amazing. Breakfast was a delight and delicious. The views to the countryside were awesome. The room was excellent and very comfortable and quiet. Parking was a challenge but doable. I suggest you get instructions on how to park beforehand. Excellent place to stay and well situated to reach local historic destinations. Higher price was definitely worth it. It’s a stay you won’t forget.

Very highly recommended

Comfortable and very clean guest room in an elegant house, endowed with a very beautiful garden with swimming pool on the slope of a hill, slightly set back from the valley and its possible noises, while offering a beautiful view of the valley of the Dordogne, symbol of beautiful Périgord. Both hosts are very friendly, welcoming, intelligent and professional. Excellent breakfast, the majority of the elements of which are homemade: financiers, cannelés, or even the cajasse, a delicious pastry from the region. At the foot of this beautiful house, the village of La Roque-Gageac is adorable, in particular an old path above the main road. In the surroundings, the magnificent town of Sarlat does not even need any more praise. As for the wider surroundings, the abundance of castles and beautiful houses in the typical beige stone is exceptional, not to mention the many hiking trails through nice forests. Very good restaurants too, and numerous. It would be difficult not to warmly recommend those bed and breakfasts called “Les Hauts de Gageac” with their excellent welcome, so well kept, in a region which is a classic of the beauties of the South-West.

This is the place to stay in the Perigord Noir! Beautiful family run country villa located 2 mins from La Roque-Gageac. It is 10 mins drive to many local attractions, including the "plus beaux villages" of Domme, Beynac et Cazenac, and the wonderful town of Sarlat-la-Caneda. Also very close to the Dordogne and canoeing. Charming and very comfortable accommodations. The view from the La Spacieuse room is amazing with 180 degree panorama across of the valley including the castle of Castelnaud la Chapelle! Ownets Laurence et Frederic were amazing hosts! Will return!

When six stars is not enough

I read a review that said five stars was not enough and they wanted to give six stars. We stayed and six stars is not enough. The property is delightful, has lovely views of the Dordogne Valley, the surrounds are superb and a great pool. The accommodation is fantastic along with the hosts. Breakfast is home made and served on the balcony overlooking the valley. La Roque Gageac is such a beautiful village and a great place to base yourself to explore the Perigord.

Belle maison de charme, très conviviale.

La maison a beaucoup de charme, décorée avec raffinement, la vue est magnifique, et le petit déjeuner en commun un grand moment de convivialité. Mais surtout elle a une âme en la personne de Christine qui, avec son mari vous offrent un accueil chaleureux et leur gentillesse toute naturelle.
