Going Down
Staff very friendly and friendly with each other, menu very poor, food apart from lobster was very good. Dining was very expensive for what you got. Cleanliness in hotel was very good, bedroom not so, went to make a coffee only to find the kettle disgusting, the spout was even full of dried sediment. Stayed here 20 months ago and I'm afraid the hotel has gone down and the prices up. Don't think it should be classed as five star anymore. Which is a shame because it is a beautiful place.

Always a hit when we come here for a meal but we decided to stay on our last visit. Service was 5* from all the staff. From check in to check out. Dinning at night was amazing and breakfast could not be faulted. After our meal and several drinks we went to the "drawing room" live music was amazing and again staff very accommodating. A sauna and spa would make this hotel our go to but only services from spa available.

Beautiful hotel. Nice and peaceful. Literally the only issue - they have cheap instant coffee in the hotel room. Maybe it’s a UK thing but Nescafé instant coffee is garbage and not what I’d expect to see offered at a 5 star hotel.

Have stayed here below. The hotel is a little out of the centre but has large grounds with deer roaming free. The rooms like the whole place are old world classic but luxurious. Very comfortable and surprisingly quiet even though there was a corporate party elsewhere in the building we didn't hear a thing during the night. The other big highlight is the restaurant and the bar. Dinner isn't cheap but the food is delicious and the breakfast is great too. If you want a high end, old world hotel in Aberdeen this is a great choice

Lovely stay
Room very comfortable and had everything we needed. Excellent breakfast served in the morning. We had dinner one of the evenings as well and it was delicious. Highly recommend the marcliffe. Gym small but adequate. Cleanliness can be improved but also challenging in a big hotel.

Service here is incredible. Well-staffed, experienced, attentive-- the highlight of the stay. Setting is Scottish suburban and visited in the off-season so didn't get a sense of the grounds. Food and beverage had a formality that were worth the trip.
