2/10 Poor
Aug 14, 2019
The “hotel” was completely locked up on a Thursday afternoon at the time I was supposed to check in. I tried calling a phone number that was written on the gate, emailing through the Orbitz site, etc.
Long story short, having already pre-paid for my three night stay, I gave up and went down the street to what turned out to be a great hotel: Hotel de France. No Orbitz necessary.
I immediately contacted Orbitz to file a complaint, and request my money back.
Here I am a month later and Orbitz has not refunded my money for this booking, which as far as I’m concerned, is a fraudulent posting. Why can’t they take responsibility? The best case scenario is that it’s a real bed and breakfast, but a terrible one. I’ll never know.
My greater annoyance, at this point, is with Orbitz. I hope American Express can keep pressure on them. Of course, these are billion dollar companies of whom a $200 refund is being requested. I guess it’s as easy for them to ignore me as to get actual customer service and resolution.
