This hotel is next to a restaurant which seems to vent their frying grease directly into the building. The entire hotel reeks of fryer grease and the downstairs/landing carpet is extremely greasy since restaurant employees walk through the tiny lobby. We were given a room right next to the hotel room keeping laundry, so we had a tremendous amount of noise for at least 12 hrs daily from washing, drying, beeping, employees yelling at each other. The hotel desk clerks are rarely at the front desk at night (they hang out on the street or in the restaurant). Our room also had a tiny window facing an interior ally area which was connected to the restaurant, so we got a lot of employee noise and banging around from that. There aren't many decent hotel options in Ketchikan, but if you have any other choices, don't stay at the Gilmore.
