Decent accommodation in great location
This is a great option in Taupo. Price was very competitive and we enjoyed a good 3 night stay here. Good location, good shower and decent Wi-Fi. The walls and ceilings are thin! On the ground floor we could hear all footsteps etc from above, thankfully no one was next door but the corridor was noisy. Thankfully we had good neighbours, it was obvious how different that could be with children next door, parties etc.

Loud pipes inside walls, stay on the second floor.
Upon entering the room, I immediately noticed some pipes inside the wall making a loud, constant noise, about TV volume. I spoke with reception, and they informed me that they couldn’t do anything and that I should speak to a manager who would be in the next morning. After a sleepless night, I returned the next morning, and was told the manager would arrive in the afternoon. I returned later and was able to switch rooms. My advice for anyone staying here is to request a room on the second floor, as my second night was fine.

Great location right by the lake. Clean and just what was advertised. Pool was good for the kids. Small, but they just needed to cool down. The spa was also a hit with the kids. Comfortable beds. Easy walk into town. You can eat and drink at the social club next store which is great. Or walk less than 5 minutes down the road for more options.

I didn't like anything about the property - there was no room to put a suitcase or hang clothes - the plastic kettle tainted the water so that tea and or coffee tasted revolting - and when you opened the bathroom door the musty smell was most unpleasant.
