Hotel itself was fine and rooftop service staff were really nice, but the front desk was indifferent and often not present and everything about how the hotel was run felt like someone was making decisions to penny pinch; the coffee in rooms and breakfast was absolutely awful, the towels felt old and washed to death, there were no robes, the tiny rooftop pool was cloudy, and so on. Nothing was really up to good 4 star standard, except the price.
It was not bad per se, and location is very central (if extremely uncharming with all the ocean-direction balconies facing a big parking lot), but it just wasn’t very good for a 4 star and just felt like they cheaped out on everything but the building itself.
To me it just felt like the management probably cared more about cutting every cost than delivering excellence.
