After staying in 24 different locations in 28 days I found our room at Castletown Motel to be very spacious. Comfortable arm chairs and an excellent size standing table with 4 comfortable stools. And wall heater that did not make a sound. Owner was kind enough to offer to lock our motorbike away.

It might be a bit dated on the inside....BUT.......everything spotlessly clean and operational in the unit. I personally love "old school" so it wasn't a problem for me. 1 1/2hr drive north from the Wellington Interislander Ferry Terminal. A good place to stop and rest if coming off the ferry and heading north. A good 7 hr sleep, a long hot shower, cuppa coffee and I was then back on the road heading to Tauranga. Worked for me......it does every time......Start in Tauranga

We travelled down from the Bay of Islands to Palmerston North this motel is 30min drive out so not far at all. Its located just off the main highway, very quite but is close to Foxton shopping centre. The host that greeted me was very friendly, gave me an ensight of the area and direction to the beach, restaurants and local businesses. The room was very clean & warm, bed very comfortable which is a bonus if your on the road for hours. Although this motel is quite old style, it has all the essentials needed, double bed with a single situated side by side. Full kitchen with a breakfast bench, great shower. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at this motel. It's not the fancyest but definitely was homely. If your a person or family of 3 and not wanting to stay in the city of Palmerston North this is definitely a quite location you're enjoy. Thank you for the hospitality 😊
