Good value stay with great staff
We were very positively surprised by the hotel which we thought was good value for the price. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large, clean and tidy and had tea and coffee making facilities. We were given a front door key to allow us to return after hours which was very helpful. I would like to go back and explore the gin distillery.

8/10 Very Good

This is a very pleasant hotel. The breakfast is excellent with locally sourced produce, served by a really pleasant young lady. There are two drawbacks to the hotel, one with the door closed at 11 PM. There was no entry after this time. The other drawback was poor Wi-Fi service. It kept going down. But my room is comfortable clean with a very clean bathroom. Again just one drawback here, it was very dark room, With a solid wall of black paper and black curtains. But for value and friendliness this hotel could not be beaten

Gin and tonic
The hotel is an attractive looking building and communal space was lovely. The staff were very helpful and I had a lovely meal and the gin was lovely. However the drawback was the room which did not match the rest of the facility. It had black curtains and reminded me of a dungeon. Despite this the room was very clean.

8/10 Very Good

My room was a good size but the mattress had seen better days and needed replacing. I had fish and chips in the restaurant which was £18.95 and I had 9 chips and the fish was about 5 inches long , it was tasty but far too expensive for what you got, I didn’t eat again in the restaurant. The staff were very nice especially the girl at breakfast, just a shame about the other issues. .

The property was set back from the road with its own drive. Plenty of parking spaces. Ideal location for weddings or events. The staff very helpfull and friendly. We were impressed by them. Our double bedroom was a nice size and clean but needed refreshing. Breakfast was very good. As a wedding was being held there it was quiet noisy in the evening but had gone quiet by midnight. We had an issue with the cold water tap on last night of our stay as no water coming out.

Great breakfast
Parked up in the large car park before checking in. Nice room on the ground floor which was spacious. Quality TV, tea and coffee facilities. Decent bathroom with bath / shower combined. Only cons were toilet was difficult to flush and there is no fridge or safe. Breakfast was included and is fantastic.

A lovely hideaway
Welcoming staff at all stages of the stay. Breakfast was excellent. Darwen Tower is very close and a lovely walk for a young family with fantastic views of the area.

4/10 Fair

I am unsure as to how this hotel has such a high rating. A giant hole in the bathmat Difficult to get a good temperature on the shower and it takes a good while to heat up The toilet roll holder isn't straight and the toilet roll falls off The main light in the bedroom didn't work so it was very dingy and had to use a phone torch to read a book The WiFi was awful and barely worked There wasn't staff on the Reception when requiring assistance. 'Continental' breakfast is poor, cooked breakfast is average. No Manager was on duty at check out in order to discuss issues, left phone number as member of staff said they would call back, but of course they didn't. Messaged on live chat, not willing to offer any form of refund. I've seen reviews with similar issues, so the management have no intention of fixing these very simple issues. Would not return and certainly do not recommend.
