This was an excellent first stop on my first visit to Roussillon. I was greeted warmly by the owner who showed me up to my room, made sure the ceiling fan was working properly, and that everything was to my approval. I had an very nice dinner in the restaurant my first night there. The restaurant staff was charming and made good recommendations about local specialities. The breakfast buffet had extended continental breakfast which included a friendly nod to North Americans - some pancakes and maple syrup, which I didn't try, but I appreciate the gesture. My room (with balcony) overlooked the restaurant terrace which was busy, but everything quieted down promptly at 11pm when they closed. The entire picturesque town is an arboretum, with trees from all around the world, perfect for a comfortable, relaxing stay in the mountains away from the summer heat and close access to Vauban's fortifications and the Petit Train Jaune for history buffs like me.
