One of our favorite hotels in China.
We loved everything about this hotel - aesthetics, comfort, location, little extras (special spring water eg.) and especially the service. Kiko at the front desk took care of our every need. She was the most welcoming, warm and professional hotel employee we ran across in China.

Good price
Don't be fooled by the appearance of the lobby. Very unappealing. However, once you get past the reception desk and get to your room, they are very comfortable and spacious. The breakfast is excellent.

Little Gem in Hangzhou
Cute room...loved the local tea that was offered. Linens were great. Bathroom was nice and spacious with bath salts. The only thing that was disappointing was stains on the carpet. Amazing front desk for a hotel in this price range...quite a great find in China. They spoke great English, helped us with bus schedules, gave us late check out....We would stay again and recommend it to friends!

Great and quite place to stay
though I almost went into Tea Boutique restaurant, I would say the location is very good. Room is clean and quite, with great facilities and welcome fruits. And they have Hupao fountain water available! very local and unique. Room is spacious, and so is the bathroom. A showering room and bath tub together. Worth the money

Satisfied Customer
Very good location...not far from Xihu. The Hotel is minimalistic in its decor....beautiful/wood fittings.....large rooms...comfortable beds. The restaurant is basic Chinese, with basic Western food/juices/fruits/cereal/toast for breakfast. Very good value for money.

4/10 Fair

Disappointed. Do not recommend. Not 4star, MOTEL!
Terrible experience, very disappoint that I paid $210 for 2 nights for a four-star hotel then it has turned out to be a no-star motel-like place. Clearly, this hotel is overrated and marketed as a 4-star hotel, in deep, it's just a motel with some upgraded benefit such as "free tea sets" in the room. This kind of hotel should be priced lower: $50/night for a great deal and should not be listed above $60/night. $55/night is a fair deal I considered but definitely not the price I paid. This hotel has not front entrance. On the left of the front entrance, it's hotel's night bar entrance, huge and noticeable. On the right hand side of the hotel front entrance is the hotel's restaurant, the store front is so big and you can't miss it and that's how you missed the hotel front entrance coz it's so tiny small, no decoration and clear sign and it looks like a back door kitchen entrance. The restaurant is what they called "high-end" so it's pricey, eating crabs and seafood. Hotel room is not so clean, dark and damp, air circulation no good, many mosquitos. Hotel does not have a disposable or paper cup to drink beverages or brush teeth. My 4 yr old daughter broke a ceramic cup while she was brushing her teeth. This no star hotel dared to charge me RMB90 (consider expensive in China) for one cup. The only thing made me happy was after I argued with the front desk girl asking her if RMB90 is for one cup or a pair (it's a pair in the room) then she was nice to lower it to RMB45.

Great spot, superb room.
This place is a little gem. The rooms are tastefully turned out, with great attention to detail. The staff is great and so is the restaurant. It's a pleasant, 30-minute hike over a well-trod mountain to West Lake.

Chic hotel but noisy room
If only this hotel was in a better location! It's a pretty steep hike up a hill through the park across the road to get to West Lake or a 25 minute walk along flat roads. But the worst thing about the location is it's on a main road with a very busy bus stop directly in front of the hotel. The windows are not double glazed or sound-proofed and I woke up soon after 6am every morning when the bus service started. The curtains let in a lot of light so if you're a light sleeper like me, bring ear plugs and an eye mask or make sure you ask for a room at the back of the hotel. Apart from the traffic noise, the hotel is very nice. The interior decoration is very tasteful with lots of wood panelling and neutral colour and none of the usual Chinese style over the top touches. The bed is very comfortable and I loved the big bath tub with complementary bath salts. Some delicious free tea and a fruit selection on arrival are nice touches.

Good base for visiting Hangzhou
Tea Boutique Hotel is a good compromise for those avoiding the sky high prices down by West Lake. It sits on the other side of the hilly park on the lake's north shore -- and its teeming crowds. The service is earnest and eager-to-please, even if few of the staff speak English. And the hotel boasts a good restaurant and decent bar that on weekends plays host to the local salsa dance club. All in all, a good base for a visit to Hangzhou.

Excellent stay in Hangzhou
My friend and I did not want to leave. The bed was SO nice - very unlike the usual China beds. Been to the Narada boutique hotel in Shanghai, which was a huge disappointment, but in Hangzhou everything was so nice. The restaurant served very nice food, and the reception staff helped us when the taxi driver did not understand where we wanted to go.

Nice hotel, immediate location is a little quiet but great if you like hiking: cross the street and hike up to the top of the hill for views of West Lake.

Modern and comfortable hotel
The hotel is modern and the staff is very helpful and speak great English which was one of the main reasons we choose this hotel. The room was simply fantastic. Our room as huge, quiet, bright, and had many electrical outlets to charge our phones, computers and cameras. The room had a very comfortable king size bed and great sheets and pillows. There was also a couple of sofas and they provided us with teas, tea cups and a kettle that was a great perk if we just wanted to stay in our room and relax. Also, the hotel had several English speaking channels, another great perk when we did not feel like leaving our room. The bathroom had a huge stand up shower, a beautiful bathtub, a new toilet and the tiles were new and clean. The room was aesthetically pleasing and very comfortable.

6/10 Good

We staye in a room with two full size bed( the description said twin size but are actual bigger to fit a 5yr and a 8 yr). The room was bigger and clean. The bathroom glass doors are fully transparent which is kind of awkward. It's great they provided free fruit and drinking water in the room. The morning breakfast was a disaster. The selection is very limited, there was no one to collect used plates or fill up the juice jars. Overall there are other better choices in Hangzhou, will not recommend.

Hotels.com should improve
The hotel was amazing ,but hotels.com has failed to provide me with Chinese tax invoice which is disappointing. Hotels.com should explicitly state that they are unable to provide "fapiao" in case users went into trouble because of this. Also, I'm very unsatisfied with the after-sales of hotels.com. I was unable to contact anyone, client service simply tells me they were in Malaysia therefore nothing can be done to compensate for my financial loss due to absence of fapiao. This is unacceptable.

Expensive spa service but nice tea
The hotel was well equipped with the nice shower booth and the bathtub. Plus there were three kinds of complimentary tea leafs to try in the room. Despite these positive aspects of the room, I was a bit disappointed with the hotel because of the price of massages and other spa services, which are more expensive than the average range in the United States. So I needed to make a trip to the city center to get a far better local deal ($40 for 2.5 hours of full-body aroma massage and foot massage). If the hotel listed the price in its website, perhaps I could have stayed somewhere that could meet my needs to this end. But anyway the hotel is well-located if you would like to see the less crowded side of West Lake.

Beautiful and clean hotel
The room is nice and clean. The hotel staff were courteous and helpful. The location, however, is less than ideal. It was quite difficult to get a cab to go anywhere. But at least, the hotel staff tried their best to help us get a cab.

Good hotel close to park and West Lake
Excellent, quiet hotel with good location. Staff were very helpful to us, as were speak no Chinese. They provided directions and maps to local services, and were always able to summon taxis quickly at any hour. I left my glasses in the restaurant and waiters retrieved them four hours later, which saved our trip. Our room overlooked a quiet courtyard, so we were able to leave the window open a night and not run the air conditioning. Screens on the windows kept out mosquitoes.

It's the little things that make a person smile.
I walked in to a plate of fresh fruit, a wonderful tea set with designer spring water and three different kinds of tea plus a gift packet of tea, bath salts next to an incredibly deep, reclining bathtub, and a mini-bar stocked with goodies. I enjoyed an amazing gin and tonic for free at the neighboring bar, The Mint Club. They have a map of Hangzhou plus tourist suggestions on a bulletin board in the business area. The breakfast choices were good. Very stylish and sweet. I would stay here again, for sure. :-)

Quaint hotel reflective of Hangzhou
As soon as you walk into the hotel it feels relaxing and peaceful. The rooms design is charming and functional. You can even have your own tea ceremony. Everything you need is in the room and is very comfortable and peaceful. Don't be put off by the exterior because inside a wonderful surprise. Location it is good too. Many buses are close by and easy to get a taxi.

Another great stay at the Tea Boutique hotel!
I love staying at the Tea Boutique hotel! The staff and service are fantastic and the rooms are large and VERY comfortable. The location is also ideal for being near the West Lake, shopping, restaurants, and transportation accessibility. The only suggestion I have is that the decor in the halls upstairs looks tired and could be replaced with something a little more lively.
