I arrived at the Motel 6 Burlington at 02:15 am. The doors to front desk were off and no signs of an employee seen. I called front desk of the hotel and it went to voicemail. I was informed by 3 men who were drinking at the entrance if anyone from the hotels there. I was directed to small cashier's window. Under the blinds as NOT wanting guests to see inside. It's now 2:35 am. Yelling hello into the room, FINALLY an employee emerged who looked annoyed. Upon checking my reservation, which I paid IN ADVANCE, i was admitted. The men outside looked like alcoholics and drug addicts, dirty, and scabs on their face. The 2nd floor smelled like cigarettes and booze. My room's window was open, the room was cold. I wasn't able to set the thermostat. The wall above the headboard was disgusting as something was sprayed across it and hadn't been cleaned. I slept in my clothes on top of the sheets. In vacating my room the elevator on the 2nd floor was broken and I had to carry my luggage down the stairs. Upon seeing the state of the morning staff, I checked out without a word. Don't recommend this place for women, children or the disabled. Not safe as a facility, or by other guests. I asked for a room in the safer part hotel. He suggested the 2nd floor knowing the elevator was broken. Or he was negligent. If a fire or other emergency occured, I can only imagine how perilous on that floor was. You can go up, but not down. There was only one. I'll never stay at Motel 6 again.
