I had a lot of trouble finding Aparthotel Ponta Preta because it changed its name about 2 years ago to Aparthotel Nautilus! This needs to be changed on Hotels.com after confirming with the owners.
My apartment was No. 5 at ground level, had its own private off street entrance and had an open plan living room with kitchen with fridge/freezer and TV, a bathroom with shower, bidet, hair dryer etc, and a bedroom with double and single bed, large wardrobes, a small key safe and AC.
Situated about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Santa Maria and 2 minutes from the beach it was ideal for my stay. I didn't use the kitchen facilities as I preferred to eat out, however I probably would have if a kettle and toaster had been present. I ate breakfast at Columbus Beach Club, a short walk from my apartment and on the beach at a cost of 7 Euros.
The reception office was situated on the corner of the building and open from 9am - 5pm. Staff were very helpful.
I wanted a place with privacy and away from the big
all inclusive hotels with families, kids etc., close to the centre of town and the beach, and the Nautilus was ideal. I would recommend it.
