The staff at the front desk and I. The restaurant were super friendly and understanding. The food was ok. It was nice to have something on campus after a long drive.
You’re given a map and I didn’t read closely and took the word “hotel” wrong. I had even messaged ahead of time to be “close to the elevator/lobby due to traveling alone with a little one and having plenty of stuff. This is a recently renovated motel.
My first impression unfortunately was not great as I arrived at night. They do give you a helpful map, but you have to go down a dark hill and it’s off a fairly busy highway. Everything was very dark and I was unusually nervous about the surroundings because my room’s back door was unlatched (I checked all 3) and it had a wobbly deadbolt once I did lock it, and I was traveling alone with a small child. It was so dark, I didn’t realize there was a drop off there, so chance of someone getting in was quite low, thankfully.
The one bed didn’t have a top sheet under the duvet, which was likely and oversight, so I chose the other one. Rooms don’t have phones so you can’t call the front desk which was frustrating. Good number of pillows, relatively comfortable bed, new fridge for milk, snacks etc. Fell asleep after settling down around 2am.
Bathroom was recently upgraded. Relatively clean. Average-pricey for what you get, but I know it’s peak season and come morning, I did appreciate the beautiful view. I felt better once I woke up, but it was time to leave.
