Die petfekte Lodge um das Pantanal schön kennenzulernen. Ein toller Besitzer, der alles mit seiner Frau bestens organisiert und die meisten Ausflüge selbst mitmacht. Tolles Essen. Tolle Köchin. Tolle Guides! Vor allem achtet der Besitzer auf sehr gute Arbeitsdingungen für sein Staff und ist sehr auf Umweltschutz bedacht! Ethisch und vom Service eine 10.0!!!

Fijne fazenda
Heerlijk verblijf bij Baia Grande. Alex stond al op ons te wachten. Spreekt goed engels en heeft ook echt wat interessants te vertellen. Hij is een goede gastheer die je helpt bij alles. Zorgt dat je aan niets ontbreekt. Het eten is goed. Twee per dag warm eten. Echt braziliaans buffet. Iedere dag rijst en bonen. Met daarbij iedere dag een andere ovenschotel, vlees of vis en salade. Drankjes zijn voor eigen rekening. Twee keer per dag een tour. Na het ontbijt rond 8.30 en in de namiddag rond 16.00 uur. Ook een keer een nachtsafari. Adriano, de gids, spreekt klein beetje engels. Weet veel te vertellen. Je gaat te voet, met de tractor of met het paard. Erg leuk allemaal. Wij waren de enige gasten omdat het laag seizoen was en mochten bepalen wat voor tour we wilde. De kamer is ruim maar sober ingericht. Het is een mooi terrein waarop de pousada ligt. Er is een klein zwembad. Dat zou iets gezelliger gemaakt mogen worden. Ziet er een beetje onderkomen uit. Veel bomen en struiken waar je heel veel vogels zien. Iedere morgen komen de kolobies ontbijten bij de struiken van het restaurant. Super mooi om te zien. De fazenda is goed te bereiken en ligt niet ver van Miranda. De laatste 18 km gaan over dirty road maar is goed te doen. We hebben verschillende dieren gezien zoals een giant anteater, struisvogel, kaaimannen, capibara en toekans en vele andere vogels. Ik zou hier zeker weer terug gaan.

Pretty location -bring your own water
We were impressed by the location, oasis like, with 5 cabins surrounded by lush vegetation. Pillows were old and unusable. The ones on the spare beds did prove a little better, but quite frankly for this price range (or any price range come to think of it) this was unacceptable. The mismatched old worn bedding also needs to be replaced. Towels were great - new, white and fluffy. The shower heads were clogged up, making it impossible to shower. I suggest a descaling of the showerheads. The tours themselves are varied with our favourite being the early morning horse ride around the area. We also loved the pirahna fishing. We stayed 3 nights and did wonder if we had booked one day too many as most of the tours were similar - looking for wild life but in different directions and by different modes of transport. All the tours are done on the farm, and are suitable for all standards. The guide was enthusiastic, he also managed to speak just enough english to get the message across. Most places we have stayed in do provide water or have a thermos of coffee for when guests come back. The management do say they do not provide drinks, but usually we assume water would be included. This place doesnt and with hindsight we should have bought a couple of large bottle of water as the water here was relatively pricey by Brazilian standards. The food was quite good, usually beef with salad options. Dessert was usually watermelon.
