Good location, friendly staff. Room was Ibis-like small, but clean. Ask at reception for Ticino-Pass, which is for free and gives you free public transportation in the Ticino region and many discounts during the time of your stay.

Very close to Paradies station (1 stop from main station) and the lake. 30 min walk to the city centre along the shore. Dining places close by. Usual standard ibis budget furniture. Surprisingly great breakfast buffet for a budget hotel!

Unfortunately my request for a room on the poolside, not roadside. was not forthcoming. Roadside rooms are subject to afternoon sun, hot!, somewhat noisy due to traffic and overlooked by the residents of the flats opposite. Very intrusive. My room was also one squezed into the lst remaing space at the end of the building, strangely configured and not as roomy as other i have stayed in.

The room was extremely small. We had a hard time bringing in our two medium sized suitcases. No real bathroom, only a tiny shower stall with no privacy. The door does not stop the water from flowing out and flooding the area. Sheets and towels had a musty smell. After the first night, we paid extra to move over to the regular ibis hotel side, where the rooms are a bit bigger and there is an actual bathroom.

Very average accommodation and breakfast. Pretty much a hostel. No privacy in the bedroom - shower - no lock. Toilet - no lock. No everyone is away with family. Breakfast - perhaps we came late but at 850 there was no egg left and the pastries were empty. Nice staff but I felt it was tough seeing everyone enjoy the Novotel pool from the glass window at reception. Told couldn’t even use pool if I offered to pay. So I think it’s my last ibis budget.
