Hallway carpet worn & torn. Room’s carpet is stained. Bashed room wall. Crack inside fridge. 3 pm checkin. Friendly staff. Hotel needed refurbishing at least 10 years ago.

Man, this hotel was the most run-down hotel I've ever stayed at in Japan or the states. The lobby had buckets on the floor, I thought they were cleaning but no there were holes in the ceiling that were leaking. My floor had the carpet ripped up and duct tape had been laid down to fill in the damaged areas. The bed was so hard that it might as well have been concrete, and the pillow (singular) was filled with beans from a bean bag chair. I asked for two more pillows and the staff quickly retrieved them but they were way softer than the normal pillow and actually filled with down. The staff were the only highlight of the hotel, they were extremely nice and accommodating. The area around the hotel is great, it's downtown Hachinohe with plenty of stuff to do. But it surprises me that with so many good hotels surrounding this area, that this one has somehow continued on.
