6/10 Good

We stayed for 3 nights and were exhausted when we left. I would say this hotel is great for a 1 night stay, but not good if you are looking to relax for a few days. There were 2 weddings over 2 nights during our stay. Could not hear the music etc when upstairs but people coming back to rooms slamming doors (no silencers on doors), talking very loudly, hairdryers on after midnight and tv's blaring, it was very difficult to get any sleep. We thought the third night would be different with no wedding, but exactly the same noise wise. I think even getting soft close doors would help. Staff were fabulous and willing to assist with anything. Room was spacious enough apart from the bathroom which you could only just manage to close the door whilst on toilet. Showers were a little difficult as it was like getting water supplied from a water pistol so no chance of washing long hair. Breakfast was ok with decent choice. Was looking forward to some local scottish sausages but they were pure mush so didnt choose them again after first breakfast. Really impressive looking hotel with great staff. It was just a shame no relaxing could happen.

2/10 Poor

We booked the last minute and only 2 twin beds room was available from the site. It did not appear fully booked when we arrived or next day. Ample parking, room is old and does not have a lot of basic convenience such as electrical plugs. Bathroom looks like it has been remodeled, but sink does not drain, and there is no toilet paper holder. The room is nothing like pictures shown. It looks old. No sound proof, we could hear people walking by, trying to get into their room. There is water leak from the ceiling outside of our room with a bucket. Hotel could use a deep cleaning and remodel. The room is nothing like pictures in Expedia. Breakfast was not good, saw a bug in the milk.

Stayed at hotel as visiting family nearby so convenient location. Restaurant food very nice Breakfast was bit disappointing- thought there would be local sausages. Also bit hit and miss over 3 days re quantity & quality ie no bavon day 1. Rooms basic. TV reception frequently dropped out and could do with new shower heads re power. Staff friendly

We used the Adamson as a base for fringe festival. Was really easy to get in and out of Edinburgh and park at the train station which was very close to the hotel. We had a family room which was great value for money. Very clean, staff super helpful and we would happily stay here again. Great stay.

6/10 Good

We had 2 separate family rooms, one had moldy shower curtains, would have been nice to have hooks in the bathrooms and a place to keep shower stuff in the shower. Breakfast wasn’t great with just white and brown bread, greasy eggs, sausage / ham, not many healthy options.

2/10 Poor

Very disappointing
Exceptionally loud music from the bar area into my room. This wasn’t on from the moment I got to my room at 19:00hrs until around 23:10hrs. After finally getting to sleep, the occupants of the room next door then returned at 00:24hrs, proceeding to shout and go in and out of their room continually - banging the door until around 01:34hrs. After staying at this hotel a number of times previously and having a reasonable nights sleep, I won’t be booking again after this experience. A shame really, as the staff have always been nice and friendly.

The sofa bed in the family room was very uncomfortable. The shower had very little pressure. The bowls for breakfast were still dirty with the remains of food stuck to them.
