Cute motel with great service.
They do a great job keeping the place very clean and nicely decorated. Great location with walking distance to town attractions and shopping. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels left neatly wrapped. The walls are a little thin for noise transfer, but overall a nice experience.

Best accommodations around!
It was our first stay at the Sunset Motel. We’ve traveled to Murphy, NC often and had stayed at various hotels. We wish we had stayed at the Sunset Motel for every visit! Very clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly. And the complimentary breakfast basket was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Great little motel for overnight gambling stay.
Great cozy place to stay, close to the casino. Room was clean and service was great! Price was also very reasonable. Love the throwback deco. We had a great stay…. and the little breakfast basket was a nice touch!

Although it’s an older motel and could probably of been a 4 star rating just because of the dated facility but it is still a great little motel. It was very clean and felt safe. Great location to walk around town, etc.

Fantastic location in downtown Murphy. You can walk to everything. We have stayed here several times - the motel is old but very well maintained and clean. Murphy is a fun town.

I booked the Sunset Motel before seeing it, so was a little leery. This is the BEST motel ever. I could tell it was an old property but it had been completely remodeled. I have never stayed anywhere that smelled so clean...not bleachy or smelly cover-up, but CLEAN. No smoking in rooms, but chairs and ashtrays were outside of each room with front door parking. They had a screen porch with TV and chairs, a small library and games that would be so family-friendly. The whole property was decorated in 70's flower power, hit record album covers and VW beetles. So much thought and love went into this motel. Wish more places could be as nice for the really cheap price!

Served its purpose.
Room was cute, tidy and clean for our stay. Bed wasnt that comfortable, may be time for a new ones. The bathroom was decent, but the toilet felt wobbly and there was no exhaust fan while showering, so you had to open the window to let steam out. No screens. Also while there, we sat out front in chairs provided to have our coffee. The cleaning woman was very rude telling us "they would be walking back and forth" while cleaning the rooms. Basically saying we were in her way, and was told "you are more than welcome to go sit in the sitting area", which was for smokers, and we clearly were not! Dont have chairs out front if you cant sit in them.
