Solid choice with great breakfast!
Straight forward and clean hotel by the side of the road. Friendly staff, will provide you with a door code via email if you arrive late, so keeping you flexible in your travels.
Room was clean and spacious. Hotel back unto a hill, so the rooms with the even numbers get the view of the planes and ocean (and possibly northern lights), whereas the uneven numbers (incl. my room) get just the incline of the hill right outside the window.
Access to the hotel is a 1km gravel road, which is also something to consider in case you are driving a compact rental.
The breakfast at this hotel was very good with choices beyond the basics by including things like salmon.
Overall a great place to stay & exactly what I was hoping for

A dump. Room had all the charm of a state institution. Smallest sink I've ever seen in a bathroom. Staff was indifferent. Really glad to be there for only one night. We had a fantastic dinner at Hotel Vik and had wished we'd stayed there instead.

This property is on farm land, looking it from the road, we were had doubts about it. But it’s a very well maintained property, not a huge one, with very good view of water even though it’s far. Other sides are surrounded by mountains and open land. Very good place to stay if you are not looking for anything fancy. All required facilities are there.

Best breakfast!
The check in process was easy and our room had a lovely view. The breakfast is amazing and really set us up for an active day in the area. Will definitely stay again if I am back in the area.

Stunning location looking out on to green meadows, backed right up against the hills. We had a fantastic stay. The breakfast was excellent. It’s a guesthouse, not a downtown swanky hotel, but the accommodations were clean and the staff were friendly. The outside of the dining hall looks rough but the inside is clean and tidy.

We had to change the plan of driving from Vík to Hofn due to the #1 road broken by flood. We stayed in this hotel near Vik to wait for another day. The staffs were friendly and the room was clean. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the hotel, very tasty and satisfactory. The TV didn’t work though, which was the only thing to mention. Otherwise, highly recommended.

We really enjoyed Hotel Burfell. The proximity to everything we wanted to see and experience was awesome. In fact, I was just reminiscing with my husband about the beautiful drive from the hotel to Vik. The hotel is nicely situated away from the road on the side of a mountain with no other buildings nearby. A very peaceful location with open fields. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and provided everything we needed to fuel us for our hikes. Staff was helpful and friendly. If I may make a very small suggestion, that would be to have room darkening shades that completely close with no gaps to let light in since it never got dark while we were there (sunset was at 11:30pm and sunrise was at 3:00am). We highly recommend Hotel Burfell and would definitely return.

Good option about 10 minutes east of Vik
Nice hotel, but about 10 minutes west of Vik. Isolated so you eat there or travel into Vik. But included breakfast was good. Room amenities good.
