Restaurant was closed, poor bar and only a poor cereal style breakfast on a help yourself table situated in the corridor outside the rooms. When we stayed here a couple of years ago, the restaurant and bar were open and both good plus a full English breakfast was served, this what we expected this time.

No restaurant on site…
Make no bones this is not one for business travelers. No food on site. Plenty of local restaurants but your will have to drive. Breakfast is a cold continental. Staff are characters 👍

Unexpected
Very basic, breakfast was at the bottom of the stairs, cereal bread and little bit of fruit, had to eat in the bedroom ,bathroom was not up to standard, no staff to welcome me when i arrived, when the owner came in and checked my booking, he handed me the key for the building next door, wasn't impressed at all, i had a tent in my jeep and I was sorry that I didn't use it, never go back there.

The property was great the restaurant is closed so we went into town about a mile and there were a lot of choices on the water. Staff was great, bar was great. Friendly and quiet.

On its website and on Expedia website it states “Two restaurants “ the fact is the restaurants closed in October 2023. Very disappointing as there are no restaurants within a mile. The accommodation is in an annex about 50 metres from the main building. We contacted Expedia for assistance and spoke for 54 minutes with a very helpful lady. As a gesture of good will for the inconvenience Expedia offered a refund of £51. We have not received any money from Expedia to date. At the hotel reception we insisted on a full refund due to misrepresentation of the services advertised on both websites.

We arrived at the advertised check-in time of 3.00pm to find an empty car park and a note on the door saying check-in started at 4pm. The room was ok but dated, there were cobwebs on the coving above the bed and on one lampshade. The included breakfast was a very poor 'continental' one. The restaurant at the property was closed, apparently the kitchens were not working. There seemed to be about 40 rooms, but just 4 rooms were occupied on the first night we were there (8.9.2024) and I think 7 or 8 the second. The only time we saw any staff was when we first checked in, keys had to be left in a bowl by the door on leaving.

2/10 Poor

I was asked at check in if I had eaten, because they don’t do food! I said no problem so long as the bar is open, to which she replied it’s not. I was then told that the hotel was up for sale and only running on a skeleton staff. I was then given a key for the annex as the main building was closed to customers. Breakfast I was told could be found under the stairs with milk, juice and yoghurts in a fridge! Once I got to my room the disappointment continued! The room smelled damp and musty which affected my breathing. The bathroom was terrible. Avoid this property like the plague. I actually booked another hotel and didn’t stay there!

Unfortunately very tired hotel run by very few staff. Bar closed at 8, no restaurant on site, breakfast help yourself to cereal boxes and fruit. On the plus side it was quiet, clean and the manager/owner was friendly. Shame as the location is good.

Convenient basic overnight stop.
Convenient for the Holyhead ferry port. There is parking but no restaurant and breakfast is a very basic selection of cereal and pre- packed pastries. My bed was comfortable and the shower was good. It's cheap and you get pretty much what you would expect for the price.

Difficult to get on the road from the car park, due to a shrub, blocking the clear view of the road. Hotel bar closed at 8pm! No-one on reception after 8pm

August 24
A major factor in booking was the inclusion of a cooked breakfast. We had stayed here about 18 months ago and enjoyed this. However this was not available (apparently kitchen shut down? ) and in its place was a selection of pasties and cereal. Jam etc and butter provided but no bread/ toast. Doubt I’ll be booking this one again.

2/10 Poor

Property is old and fairly rundown. The restaurants were closed, however nothing noted when I made the booking, meaning we couldn’t get any dinner because all local restaurants were fully booked. Breakfast was a few croissants stored in a stairwell. No hot drinks or hot food. Rooms are very over priced and facilities are poor. Area is awful. Would not return.
