This property really suited my needs. The staff were friendly and obliging, and the new managers are doing a great job. While cooking isn’t allowed in rooms, cooking facilities are available in a camp kitchen setup near the pool, where there are also coin washing machines. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom convenient.

This motel was great for the price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a minor electrical problem and the owner came and fixed it immediately. It is very convenient to Mossman Gorge.

Honestly- it was a very average experience. A plus is we got check in early, but we basically were handed our keys and that was it- no information on where things are or about using any of the facility. The room was okay for space for me and two teenagers. Bathroom was okay. But the ants- there were heaps of dead on the walls, skirting floor, and then there were the live ants. I took photos but after I cleaned up so many of the dead bodies. We are not a messy family, and we always cooked in the communal kitchen, so our food remained pretty much out there except the odd drink or cookie. As soon as that left on the bench, so many ants everywhere on the tables/shelving. For $144 a night is what a great value staying so close to port Douglas and Mossman gorge, but it wasn’t worth going through the experience of the ants. The kitchen area was okay but a bit messy- I am a cleaner so I cleaned everything before we used it to cook.

There was a misunderstanding between Wotif and the property. They wanted to charge $10 more and tried to charge me twice. He was understanding though but I wouldn’t stay again at that price I would rather a pub

Have stayed at motels all over Australia and this is the worst one by far. Decrepit (fridge door held by duct tape and both fridge and toaster yellowed from age and wear, looked gross), smelled awful because of so-called room deodorizer, had one coffee spoon in the room along with a few cups and dishes. Completely run down, have stayed in far better motels that were more decently priced. Note that any decent reviews are old… Expedia shouldn’t be selling this accommodation.

The bathroom ceiling and some parts of the wall had patches of mould, the shower rose kept falling down, we had to hold it with one hand and wash yourself with the other, the water spout on the bathroom basin was loose and nearly falling off, the hair dryer didn’t work, the vinyl floor planks around the beds were lifting and had big gaps between them, the restraints advertised was non existent. The photos shown on their website must have been taken years ago, our room was in poor shape
