I stayed at this hotel in Houston during a business trip, and while the rooms were decent and the cleaning staff was friendly and attentive, the front desk experience left much to be desired. Unfortunately, their service was unorganized, unhelpful, and moody, which made my stay far more stressful than it needed to be.
During my trip, the city of Houston was essentially shut down due to an unprecedented 6 inches of snow, forcing the airport to close. I had to extend my stay on a daily basis while waiting for flights to resume. When I finally secured a flight for the following morning and attempted to cancel my reservation for the upcoming night, I was met with a flat-out refusal from the front desk.
While I understand the existence of “rules and regulations,” extraordinary situations like this require a level of courtesy and understanding. Instead, I was charged for an entire additional night despite clearly explaining that I would not be staying. This rigid and greedy approach left a bad taste in my mouth, especially considering the extenuating circumstances.
A little flexibility and empathy from the front desk would have gone a long way. Until this hotel addresses its front desk issues and prioritizes customer service, I cannot recommend it to other travelers, particularly during unpredictable situations.
