I had a wonderful stay at the Sunset Marquis. This was my third time staying there in the past 18 months, so I obviously like it.
It's truly an oasis of calm right in the middle of West Hollywood. The location is great! It's just below the Sunset Strip, but far enough removed where you don't hear the noise of that lively area. It's within walking distance of a lot of places. (Granted, I'm a New Yorker, so walking is a preferred mode of getting around and longer distances don't bother me.) I also like the size of this hotel. I would describe the hotel as medium size, but it feels pretty intimate. It's not a high rise, so you don't get grand views of LA, but the lush landscaping makes for a calming environment.
The rooms are great too. This time I upgraded to one of their Villa rooms and I loved it. Previously I stayed in two room suites in the main hotel building and those rooms are great, but the Villa rooms are exceptional. If you can swing it, I highly recommend getting a villa room.
The staff is incredibly helpful and nice. I received a lot of help from Sara and Logan. They were both so incredibly friendly, but all the staff was great.
