Minimalism that impacts comfort & experience.
When visiting family in Fort Worth we wanted to test out Hotel Revel located in the hospital/near south side district because of its convenient location. Our experience was a bit underwhelming as finding information required some hunting or follow up directly with customer service. For example, you have to reach out to give the rep your car license plate number or else you will get fined/ticketed. Overall the room was pretty clean minus a mark on the linens and a lot of dust in the bathroom intake. I think what surprised us the most was the lack of table lamps on side tables, the HVAC had not been turned on (64 degrees when we walked in on an evening it was 40s and rainy outside), and that some things needed functional repairs (e.g., luckily we travel with some small tools to adjust the shower head so we didn’t have to hold it the whole time, but couldn’t fix the tv mount). We were able to get the room warm (make sure the on/off button glows green) and the bed was comfortable (3 standard pillows for a king size bed is also surprising), and our things and car were safe. I think they are aiming for a more minimalist luxury experience than what the hotel can currently provide and hope with some basics support they can improve.
Shower required a screwdriver to adjust the shower head as it wouldn’t hold up the hand held head on its own. No additional shelving for your own toiletries.
Small wardrobe with only two hangers. Steamer included below.
No additional lamps on the side tables, and tv in this particular room needs work on the mounting as it was only able to be in this position.
Tv was only able to stay in this position.

Nice hotel, management needs revamped
I had read previous reviews, so I knew there was going to be something weird about check in. You have to get an app to get your room key, which was no big deal to me...but I can see an older person losing their mind over it. There are no hand towels at all in the rooms, when I was trying to call housekeeping, I had to call the toll free number to get ahold of anyone there...not easy. There was LITERALLY ONE GUY at the hotel doing check in, housekeeping and bartending. He was so super nice & honestly doing a great job, but that's ridiculous on a weekend night.

Won’t stay again honestly. Pillows were crap. Bed was spring and not comfortable. No full length mirrors… honestly kinda like the ikea of hotels. Bare minimum effort. Also. We had a light that flickered the whole night. So that was fun. Just not worth the money.

Highly disappointed
There was no one working there. Couldn’t get toilet paper that had run out. No one at the front desk? Minimal service concept. Very cold and sterile. Metal and concrete. Would not recommend

The room was not as pictured. It was mostly stripped of all the little pops of color on the shelves, night table lamps, and had only 3 small pillows on the bed. That made the room feel very empty and sterile with no life. Bring ear plugs because sound travels well in this concrete, industrious room. The staff member Shelton was very hospitable and handled everything, checking in wise, we needed. Overall a cute place but not up to the aesthetics the pictures portray.

The room itself was gorgeous and had a great view. But everything outside the room felt a little rundown. There was a huge meeting/kitchen space for guests, but it didn’t even have a coffee maker. Just a jar of instant coffee next to a microwave. They use some kind of concierge-less check in with an app. It’s convenient, but that means the only staff member is the bartender. He was phenomenal but overworked. I guess just lower expectations and think of it as a hotel with Air BnB service (not much).

I stayed in the Bluebird suite facing west and adjacent to the community kitchen and outdoor patio. The room was clean and the sunset was beautiful. It was nice to be able to smoke on the patio. It was a weekday so it was also quiet.

This is every bit a minimalist property. No bells and whistles. Walls are VERY thin between rooms. When booking through Expedia, there is never a connection between the reservation and the GOKI app that’s used to access the building and your room. I’ve had to talk to the front desk person both times I’ve stayed here. Likely will not book again. Also received parking ticket ($88) even though parking is included in the reservation and when checking in at the front desk parking was not mentioned either time.

Noisy neighbor loud all night and no staff on site to complain to. The number to call just goes to voicemail. Might have slept 2 hours that night. Got there an hour before checkin so there was no way to get in early since your door access doesn’t work until 4pm.

Hotel was great, however, there was a mixup between Expedia and Hotel Revel. We specifically booked and paid extra for the “Blue Bird” as we had stayed there before and loved it. When we arrived, our room was not booked as the “Blue Bird” but rather the “Casino”. The incorrect room was nice, but not as large and nice as the one we originally booked as it was a corner suite. Luckily, there was someone at the host stand, which is not a normal situation at this hotel. Sheldon was very happy to help and got our room swapped out for something similar to what was originally booked. Overall was a good experience but getting what we wanted would have made it great.

Thin walls, room felt like a cubicle, and definitely was expecting something nicer. Asked to use a microwave to heat food and was directed to a gas station. Asked for a fork and directed to order on the app.
