Mark, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Family room

Pros: nice looking hotel, good family room, central location, communal areas smart, decent breakfast buffet, comfy beds, friendly service. Cons: tired rooms, not the cleanest bathroom
2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Old building with comfortable rooms

The hotel is old, so it has a unique floor plan which made it kind of fun. The breakfast buffet had many options from which to choose and was fairly standard. The bedroom had a decent amount of space with comfortable beds and a good sized bathroom.

This is a historic hotel, which is what attracted us to this hotel. It is in a fantastic location with great parking!
Jason, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

There could not be a better place to stay. Very cool backstory and super close to everything.
OLLIE, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Perfect, except…..

Excellent location, easy access to train station. Great service, friendly and helpful But the bed is soooo soft, makes your body hurt! Forget sleeping on the edge, you’ll roll over out of the bed! The pillow is bon existence as it is so soft like nothing in it. It’s two mattresses put together to make it king bed, and either side is just so bad mattress.
Karunia, 5-night trip

8/10 Very good

Beautiful hotel, very good restaurant around
Mari, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Hilly but close the castle.

The hotel is up the steep hill from the train station, creating beautiful view, close to the castle and quiet at night. (Suggest taking a cab the short distance if anyone isn’t looking for exercise.) Lots of stairs in this place so be prepared to carry your bags up and down a few. Mediocre breakfast. Lots of good places nearby and strongly suggest the back pathway to get to the castle or town. Not ideal for hot temps as getting good airflow is tough - as for a fan.
Ronald, 1-night trip

Beautiful place. Great place for walking and exploring Stirling.

The perfect hotel in the perfect location

Our first trip to Stirling and The Stirling Highland Hotel was the perfect hotel for the trip. A beautiful building with friendly helpful staff located in the centre of Stirling. So we were able to park the car for two days and walk everywhere. The only time we drove was up to the Wallace Monument.
Jeff, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Check in took far to long, only one person dealing with many arrivals.
Stephen, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Comfortable hotel with good food and drinks. Within walking distance of Stirling Castle and Old Jail.
Britt, 1-night trip

Leanne, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Great value DBB stay

Good value for a night away. Room was clean and good choice for dinner.
Tracey, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Nice bedroom, bathroom not so good

The bedroom had lovely views. The bathroom was shabby, towel rail lose, old curtain fixtures showing, no toilet brush, skirting board needs repainting, ceiling above shower flacking. Situated in a good spot for railway station and castle. Spa was good. All staff were friendly.
Sandra, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Room was nice and clean. Quick at check in. Food in restraunt was good and excellent service.
Sarah, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Comfortable, basic, no AC

The hotel is charmingly situated in an old high school and they’ve re-used the space to their benefit. It’s very picturesque. But it needs updating. The rooms need mini splits because they get so stuffy. It was lovely and cool outside but none of that could get into the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was basic.
Martha, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

very friendly staff and we were recommended a great place to have dinner, Port Cullis, which was walking distance from the hotel. The hotel was very charming, amazing that it was built in the 1100"s.
Becky, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast had numerous options. We went back to the hotel for our wedding anniversary and there was a nice card and chocolates for us in the room which was a lovely, personalised touch. The bar didn’t have any of the beer pumps on and we had to pay extra to use the spa facilities which we didn’t have to do previously. Would still return as the hotel is right in the centre and overall a great stay.
