Nice hotel in St Pete

Galaxy hotel is perfectly located near everything that downtown St Pete has to offer. It is walking distance to shopping, dining, and the waterfront. It is a simple hotel with not too many frills, but very clean and accommodating. The room is spacious and we had beautiful views of the water. The bed was firm and bouncy and not the best quality, but the pillows were nice. The room was very clean, I like the tile floors and the slippers and robe they provide. Albeit there should've have been 2 sets since we were 2 people staying but that's not really that big of a deal. There is a little cafe in the lobby, but that's about all there is that is extra.

We stayed on the 9th floor, the view was great. The room was very spacious. We did have an issue with the room and let the front desk know on checkout. Randy the front desk manager, without us asking reached out to us later and went above and beyond to compensate us for the issue. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

March 13-18, 2025 stay

Upon check-in we were told dining wasn't available and under construction. When making reservations there was no mention of this on website. Our room 905 smelled horrible and odd. Not to be rude but it smellsd as if the carpet had urine embedded or somewhat of a nursing home smell. Upon entrance the small coffee shop to the right look to be with minimal purchase items but nobody was ever there so we would need walk outside for coffee. The one gentleman that had a black and gray facial beard and mustache, I do believe he was the owner and was rather rude in regards to zero communication as we checked out. He was disheveled which I understand it was early however when I stated Inam checlking out, I asked for a receipt. He never acknowledge me, looked annoyed and handed me printed receipt. When he handed it to me he never said Thank you or anything at all. I work in the restaurant industry and with the public every day and know he should have had better customer service. I just spent $1,400 there to stay for five nights and I would have expected a minimal Thank you for staying. This hotel is in prime location however I think it needs serious help with management, customer service and amenities. If foresee it being under new management or become a new hotel with knowledgeable ownership!

Excellent customer service

The Galaxy distinguishes itself for the outstanding customer service. Check in was a breeze with Randy and Paula! They were very organized during the Grand Prix and were able to accommodate early check in. Also after checking out Randy was able to fix an overcharge due to miscommunication with another rep. The hotel was very clean and all their staff are customer service first. Valet parking attendant was very courteous and helpful as well. Will definitely return.

Bodde 4 nätter, städ 1 dag under vistelsen. Incheckning och utcheckning var smidig. Personalen i receptionen verkade inte ha mycket koll. Hotellet ligger bra till för att ta sig runt. Väldigt lyhört, hörde alla som gick utanför och larmet från rummet bredvid på morgonen. Hörde musiken och Tv som rummen jämte hade på.

Great experience!

Incredible experience at the Galaxy Hotel! The front desk staff, especially Randy, were always friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. It was the perfect location - walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do in Downtown St. Pete. Would love to stay here again next time I visit!

Had a wonderful stay at Galaxy. Our flight was cancelled and our trip was cut one day short. Randy, the Galaxy representative worked hard to communicate with Hotels.com to secure a refund for our missed night. He also saw to it that we were in a very nice room and were comfortable during our short stay.

Downtown Hotel, excellent location

The staff at this hotel were fabulous. Randy and Keila were very accommodating and friendly. Nice clean hotel, in the heart of downtown St. Petes...great location! Would book again.

ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTMENT

I booked this hotel for my wife's bday and Valentines day. When we first arrived I thought wow this looks nice. From that point on it went down hill. The parking situation is not good. The person at front desk was new and let me know that FEMA was using this hotel as a place for disbursed hurricane victims and only 40% was actually being used as hotel. The lobby was completely silent. The coffee shop was closed and teh energy of the place was super strange. Check in was supposed to be at 3pm and it took over an hour to get the keys to room due to the POS and Credit card system not working since the Hotel part just opened a couple weeks prior. NEVER is this stated on Hotels.com website. Well at 4:15pm we were handed the keys to the top floor luxury room we booked. Great! Not so soon.... Only one problem. They said due to the balcony mezzanine needing to be inspected the door is locked and you cannot use it. WTH! We go to the room and it is literally the cheapest, corniest, sparkly silver furniture. The windows are blocked by giant 20' blinds that you cannot open. Absolutely worst room ever!! I ask for a different room and they say they dont have any. I was so disappointed and actually the most I have been with a hotel in I cant remember how long. I felt like I was scammed. We use hotels quite often and I dont need much. Nice check in. Clean room with what I pay for. STAY AWY FROM THIS PLACE.

Staff exceeded expectations

Specifically the staff members Randy, Josselys and Keila were amazing. I called ahead and asked the hotel staff to take care of setting up the hotel room that I paid for with the Valentine’s Day Decorations. They were happy to do so and they did a fantastic job decorating the room. Our room was on the 9th floor and it was actually pretty big for a hotel room. I would like to also say that working wit Randy was a pleasure he is really nice and easy to talk to. He is the nicest hotel staff member I have ever met in my life!
