Very charming hotel overlooking the lake. Lovely landscaping made for beautiful outdoor spaces to lie in a hammock, sit by the water, etc. Our room was clean and nice, but the bathroom and sheets could have been better. Breakfast was good - you get some options of traditional Guatemalan, more American style, pancakes, yogurt/granola etc. It is built into the hillside over the lake so there is some walking up and down to get around, but the staff kindly helped us with our luggage. No TVs in our room so would recommend bringing books / a deck of cards. We enjoyed using the free kayaks but were a little disappointed the hot tub was an additional charge.
The area is in between San Juan and San Pedro - it's an easy walk into San Juan by a path down by the water, and easy to walk into San Pedro too but it's along a main road without sidewalks. Tuktuks are cheap and easy ways to get around, as are water taxis.
